I don't know what they're patching, but I'm glad they do.
Imagine all those hungry gamers diving into it just to encounter a save corruption or glitch that makes the games unbeatable etc?

Yeah, agreed. In my view patches are always a good thing. Well, except in New Vegas, since I now have to start from the beginning when I go back to S-Rank it. :)

You would think this is to remove glitches, but they realized they didn't have enough of them in this game, so they're taking the time to make all characters have floating eyeballs.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.

Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

    We will remember them.

They did a recount and realized that the number of dragons in the game was actually finite. This patch includes the promised infinite dragons. However, because the patch was developed so quickly, they had to resort to using old cliffracer code from Morrowind in order to save time.

I generally just love patches. I love the fact that I've bought something that is now going to be better. Even if it's just a small tiny bit better, it feels great to download and install that patch.

Because they had to declare a build ready for production in order to prepare for duplication and shipment. This patch is meant to address issues that couldn't be fixed in that timeframe.

I wasn't going to post anything as I think patches are good but then I clicked on the source link and saw that the poster was Nick Breckon! Now all I can think of is wizards and idle thumbs. He's heading up a good bethesda podcast though, to bad it wasn't done more regularly.

Hmm, I didn't hear that - not from BGS anyways. The MNC people and Netherrealm have both talked about balance tweaks sans-patch, so that is a thing that is possible if you build your game with it in mind, so maybe?

It honestly wouldn't surprise me! Though it would be nice to know how frequent the bugs are in v1.0. Are we talking New Vegas-levels or what? I know Jeff pretty much knocked off a star off the score due to the bugs in that game.

From NeoGaf, a Bethesda community manager confirms a day one patch for all platforms. Patch notes will be official on that day. Wonder what they're patching, and if it'll affect reviews who are stuck with a pre-patched game.

Maybe the streaming stuff from the HDD?

Have those who got it early tried to clean their cache on X360? It seems the texture bug is rooting from that, just like it did in Fallout: New Vegas.

Seems like it will be a very minor patch. Well, minor in terms of size. Quest progression is pretty important.

    For those who will pick up Skyrim this Friday, expect a patch to download onto your console. Here’s what the patch fixes;

    • Some minor stability
    • Quest progression issues
