I don't see any apparent downside in any of the videos I've watched. You can just turn into one whenever you want, so it's not something where you could just be walking through town, and BAM, you're a werewolf. But there's gotta be a downside to it, right? As a vampire the downside is obvious. Though I don't believe you bleed health in the sun anymore, you just can't regain health anymore in the sun.

Any enemy can defeat you simply by throwing a ball. When you can't help but chase it, they escape.

I haven't got it yet but have seen some videos of it, from what I have seen so far you cant pickup loot as a werewolf, most npcs become hostile to you straight away and I don't think you can change back manually you have to wait for your blooldlust to run out.

The downside is that you are an avatar to the primal, elemental rage of nature with superhuman strength and speed. Also, you got fur which probably itches.

People will want you as a pet.

@CL60: If it works like it did in Morrowind if you are ever seen changing you will from that point on be kill on sight by any npc in the game.

You have to eat something and unlike a vampire you can't just stealthily drink some blood. Also, everyone will kill you. You can't use weapons or spells

*Edit: in all seriousness, I'm sure it'll affect your relationship with people. If not a disposition hit, maybe people will attack you on sight?

You cant heal apart from feeding on humans, so its just a matter of time until you're forced to really.

@CL60: In morrowind there were disadvantages. Somebody mentioned the silver of course, but its not as easily controllable as you would think. And if someone sees you transforming you are completely boned out of society.

As a werewolf, I wonder if you can get a haircut so you'll look like a badly dressed(?) Khajitt and no one will notice, probably.

Unfortunately, I don't think the werewolf perks include the transforming your human body into Taylor Lautner.
