I don't see any apparent downside in any of the videos I've watched. You can just turn into one whenever you want, so it's not something where you could just be walking through town, and BAM, you're a werewolf. But there's gotta be a downside to it, right? As a vampire the downside is obvious. Though I don't believe you bleed health in the sun anymore, you just can't regain health anymore in the sun.

What's the downside of being a werewolf?

You have to uhh..
Well see the thing is...
Well when you're a werewolf you....
Fuck, I don't know.
I haven't got it yet but have seen some videos of it, from what I have seen so far you cant pickup loot as a werewolf, most npcs become hostile to you straight away and I don't think you can change back manually you have to wait for your blooldlust to run out.
Silver weapons do a shit ton more damage. Also if you are seen changing your more or less fucked for that area. And I can not remeber but i think magic damage was more to.I don't see any apparent downside in any of the videos I've watched. Good luck getting some action with the virtual wife. :P
*Edit: in all seriousness, I'm sure it'll affect your relationship with people. If not a disposition hit, maybe people will attack you on sight?

Any enemy can defeat you simply by throwing a ball. When you can't help but chase it, they escape.
See this? This is why I'm following you.
@Lotus: I very much doubt that.
@CL60: In morrowind there were disadvantages. Somebody mentioned the silver of course, but its not as easily controllable as you would think. And if someone sees you transforming you are completely boned out of society.
aww man I tried to avoid learning anything about this game way to go... Well now that I know awesome!
@Mr_Skeleton: It's good to know you don't need to reequip your pants every time you hulk out.True but for some reason you are not allowed to wear shirts.
There's also something else cool, that I wouldn't consider a spoiler, but so many people are really uptight here, so I'll tag it.
You can join up with Necromancers.
The social stigma of knowing that werewolves have been pussified in modern culture since Bloodmoon due to the rise of Twilight and Furry cultures. Same problem vampires have, really.
Also, I'm pretty sure you have to feed or something to maintain the form. And I somehow doubt you can do it as much as you want, otherwise the ring of hircine would be useless.

That would make sense, having a weakness to silver swords, like ghosts in the previous games.Silver? I have no idea.

You know, I've never seen Twilight, but a whole lot of girls would love to get some action with the werewolf dude, so... that might not be an issue at all...
As a werewolf, I wonder if you can get a haircut so you'll look like a badly dressed(?) Khajitt and no one will notice, probably.

Unfortunately, I don't think the werewolf perks include the transforming your human body into Taylor Lautner.
They should.@TheGreatGuero said:
