The fifth installment in Bethesda's Elder Scrolls franchise is set in the eponymous province of Skyrim, where the ancient threat of dragons, led by the sinister Alduin, is rising again to threaten all mortal races. Only the player, as the prophesied hero the Dovahkiin, can save the world from destruction.
I like the Ice one.. I forget what it's called exactly. But it's the second level ice one, that shoots a glacier. It sends people flying backwards (so does the lightning one and fire one, but, it looks cooler when a spiky glacier makes it happen), and those fucking glaciers stick out of their corpses like arrows. It's awesome.
The more spells I get the cooler the game gets. I also just found azuras star. It was broken but I fixed it. Bound sword and bound axe spells are cool but I'm thinking of specializing in astronach.
@Mikemcn: Spells are waaaaay more viable in this game than past Elder Scrolls games. I'm actually disappointed now that I'm mostly melee because the new spells look so awesome.
@Sorasha: I'm having the same experience. I've never been much interested in mage characters in these games and suddenly I'm wishing I'd rolled a different character. I'll stick with the rogue I've built, but damn the magic is tempting.
I've been using a Frostbite/sword combo fro most of the game. However, my favorite thing to do is use the first shout you get. There's nothing more satisfying then screaming a bear of the side of a mountain. Or knocking all the silverwear and food off a table while someone is eating.
if anyone can help me with this, i am not sure how to combine spells. I have lightning on one hand and fire on the other, how does one create the firebolt?
I think you can only combine the same spell. To do so you need the perk in the relevenent magic tree which allows for "overcharging" spells. That lets you combine them into a more potent effect. However I believe it is just things like fire+fire = overcharged fire. I Don't think you can merge lightning and fire into a new spell.
@Mikemcn: i believe it is. spells seem much stronger and cooler than oblivion's.

Ok, cool, ive played melee characters in Morrowind and Oblivion, and kinda am tired of it, i'll try and focus on magic when I get the game.
chain lightning because it doesnt need to be aimed so specifically like some of the other spells. you just shoot it in the direction of the enemies and it usually magnetises to them. best shout for me is the slow time one
Still sticking with fire, just because it's a goddamn flamethrower instead of measly fireballs. Can't wait to get into resurrection, though. Zombie horses shall fight for my name!
I've played for two days straight. I'm about to hit level 17. I got a shock spell that bounce off of the enemy to other nearby enemies (chain lightning I believe). Combine that with a summoned astronach and a companion and a fireball and you're unstoppable. If you think magic is too weak in this game, think again.
this guy wanted me to help him kill a necromancer that was raiding his family's tomb and defiling the corpses. Along the way, I raided two chests and pretty much every corpse. We were also there to rescue his aunt. Turns out she was killed. So I proceed to raise her corpse from the dead right in front of him.
The guy does make comment about you stealing from the tomb (says it's okay as long as you help him get rid of the necromancer). Was a little disappointing that I only caught one comment about my being a necromancer, and it came was we had already left the tomb. Kinda funny though.
