Hmm didn't notice it before but there's a tiny comment at the bottom page from Mr. Butts.

Who cares any more? This and Final Fantasy Versus XIII should have both been canned ages ago.

Well technically it could be in development but never intended for release. Like The 1994 Fantastic Four film was completed with the intention of never being released (unknown to the actors and crew though).

Same deal with Half Life 3 really, minus the fact that The Last Guardian was actually revealed and confirmed to be in development . The teams in charge of the games haven't said anything about em, but all this speculation from people on the internet are building these games up to be something they could never live up to if they ever do release.

Hey, I would have believed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was absolutely dead before last E3. Weirder stuff has happened.

Okay so I had to start watching that film and I must say it's fuckin better than those two films Fox released in the early 2000. Still a shit show but still better than those two films.

I love it. It's so ridiculously stupid but it's a blast to watch. It really feels like the old Fantastic Four comics only on a shoestring budget. It is amazing that they managed to make something with such little money or time. The score is also terrific. Apparently the two composers spent $6,000 of their own money on an orchestra. Too bad it'll never be released. Apparently all the prints were destroyed but the bootlegs had to come from somewhere. Hopefully someday it'll be released (assuming whoever kept a print stored it properly and would be willing to part with it)

Last night, I made a call to post a story about the cancellation of The Last Guardian. The source for this information was, in my opinion as IGN’s Editor in Chief, credible enough to justify running the story. While there is still a discrepancy with what our source has said, Scott Rohde’s Twitter post makes it clear that our original source was in error. The business of handling news sources involves some assumption of risk and last night my evaluation of that risk was clearly in error.

That was never announced officially. Sony hasn't said anything official regarding the game in years other than, "No, seriously! We're still working on it even though we refuse to say anything specific about it!"

I agree, with their lack of showing that thing is canned. Sony is just being a coward and until further notice everyone should just accept Sony has cancelled it internally or "On hold" like they would like you to believe. It was my silly attempt at being funny. I'm sorry. I tried to express that everybody seems excited for it to potentially come to PS4; just like how we were originally excited for it to come to PS3 all those years ago.
