Best way to get "Parts" in MP?

Anyone have any tips on this?

It seems in several games that the guys with no kills or executions or revivals have more parts. Which is confusing to me. I'll run around the map collecting all of the boxes of items, killing guys (special executions for more parts), and doing the stuff that I thought mattered but it seems like it isn't generating the amount of parts that some of the other people are getting. I even have the extra parts perk thing on some of my loadouts.

Or am I putting too much stock into parts? What is important for the survival of your clan? Parts, the blue bottles (is this medicine?), and winning the little minigames that come up ever week? I got all the way to Week 8 on my first playthrough and suddenly the MP reset which I wasn't sure why. Maybe all of my survivors died but I thought I had 80+ at the time.

I'm on Week 5 of my second playthrough so I'm hoping to not screw it up again. Getting to Week 12 takes a pretty long while.

Crafter 2 and 3 does wonders. For each gift you give (you get a gift by crafting 3 items for level 2, 2 items for level 3) you get 100 parts, which over the course of a 5-6 round game adds up to almost 1000 extra parts if you're only making smokes/shivs/first aid.

Also, it sounds like you didn't complete a hunter/infected attack mission, hence the instant game over. Later on in the game, if you don't complete the mission, you'll lose 100% of your people.

Ah that does sound familiar. I think your right. Damnit.

Thanks. I'll try Crafter as well... I haven't used that at all.
