Left Behind is a fantastic add on for a game that didn't need one. 0

The journey The Last of Us provided was certainly a satisfying one but also a very complete experience. I didn’t feel like I really needed more to Joel and Ellie’s story. So it’s kind of amazing that Left Behind, the first and only story DLC for The Last of Us, manages to make itself fit perfectly into the story and provide a meaningful experience for those that enjoyed the original story.Left Behind starts off in-between the fall and winter sections of the main story, right af...

A wonderful but flawed piece of storytelling. 0

I beat The Last of Us in one sitting my first time through. I don't recommend it. It's a dark, grueling experience, but I needed to see it through. Shortly after, I started it again, this time on Survivor difficulty. I just barely made it out of the sewers with almost zero health and zero supplies. I needed to take a break. I never picked it back up. Until Left Behind. And I'm so glad I did.I wouldn't have thought I would care about Ellie's backstory, about Riley, until I started playing. I had ...

    Awesome so fun 0

It is the best game I've seen! I think it should be on PC. It is also realistic like in the begining and that the zombies attack you when you make a sound. It will be cool if the killers see the kid and attack her because I she was next to a murder and she wasn't even hurt....

The Last Of Us Introduces Next-Gen Emotional Storytelling 0

I've been playing video games since the eighties. Pretty early on I developed a personal preference for games that were telling a story, trying to achieve a cinematic experience, and let you care for the in-game characters. Unfortunately, almost every game I've played always had some kind of uncanny valley vibe going on, or it would break the immersion with a janky video game mechanic, poor performance of the voice actors or bad storytelling. I didn't play one game that did all of those things r...

Welcome to the REAL Mushroom Kingdom 0

Of all the popular doomsday theories – mass flooding, meteors, alien invasion, or even heavenly judgment – my personal least expected apocalyptic scenario would have to be a fungal infection.Naughty Dog, the developers behind Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and the highly acclaimed Uncharted franchise, have shown us the true horrors of mushrooms in their latest masterpiece, The Last of Us. Super Mario Bros., take heed!First and foremost: This game is not for the squeamish. After the fun-filled ...

Quite possibly, the best game of this generation. The first AAA game to live up to its 10/10, 5* reviews in years 0

Nowadays, gaming review sites are handing out 10/10 and 5/5 scores like they are candy. It is a shame, because this scoring inflation leaves no room for truly excellent games like The Last of Us to differentiate themselves. The Last of Us is, quite possibly, the best game that has come out this generation. It combines survival horror elements, stealth, and third-person shooting into an experience that is unlike any other. It manages to stand out despite being a member of the overcrowded post...

Last of Us is stunning and immersive... the story will drag you in and leave you wanting more! 0

In a gaming world of AAA games, Indie games, MMOs and not much in between, the Last of Us tells an amazing story based in the post-apocalypse U.S.A. The storyline really drives the game forward, and the tale is woven in a sometimes terrifying and exhilarating atmosphere that is both immersive and addicting. My favorite game of all time before playing this was Final Fantasy 7. This is just given to illustrate to you how often I change the status of games that I call the top one I've ever played. ...

The Last of Us reviewed by Ominous Prime 0

I wanted to wait until a lot of the hype died down to play this game because I knew in my mind it would not live up to what was built up. It's not to say that The Last of Us is a bad game. I will try and be spoiler free for those of you left to play it. It's actually quite good, if not one of the best games of the year as far as story telling goes. Naughty Dog demonstrates that the current generation still has gas left in the tank, and that story telling is not all about next gen particle effec...

PS3 Saves The Best For "The Last Of Us" 0

Naughty Dog has done another great game with this survival post apocalyptic world that has neither zombies or aliens as the main enemies but other humans trying to survive this new harsh reality. The game feels like a true survival story game play where almost everything has to be ration carefully from food to first aid. Also the game isn't only a third person shooter, that's not the point but more on using your environment and the tools and equipment to help you along your mission. The characters...

My The Last of Us Review 0

You can honestly say a game pulls you into its world when you walk away emotionally drained. That is what The Last of Us does, it pulls you in and doesn’t let go until the credits roll. You will not want to put the controller down. It shows that sometimes the right thing to do won’t be what keeps you a live. It is about survival, hope, endurance and commitment. However, Last of Us is not without a few issues that can sometimes take your right out of the experience. The Last of Us is Naughty Dog’...

It's the PS3's best exclusive to date, and one of the best games ever. An absolute must-play 0

The year is 2033. The human race is slowly being wiped out. A savage fungal infection rots its victims’ minds within two days, changing them from reasonable human beings into homicidal monsters. Nature has begun to reclaim its territory, taking over buildings and roads without prejudice. The military has forced quarantines in major cities, and a rebel group struggles to return the original order back into society. This is the setup for The Last of Us, the latest game in Naughty Dog’s library. An...

One of the most immersive games I've played 2

The tension in this game does not let up for a second. Great game. The opening 10 minutes are truly frighting, especially if you have a family of your own. The game gives you an option to play it as either a stealth or shooter, although you won't last long if you treat it as COD. It definitely pays to be patient and use stealth to progress....

This game is terrible. Here's why. 6

Everyone says that with games, graphics don't matter. It's all about the gameplay, man. That's the core. Gameplay. Here's the thing -- the gameplay in The Last of Us is absolutely atrocious. All of my issues are with the gameplay. The story and cutscenes are fantastic, and the only reason I stuck it out as long as I did (about halfway through, judging by a chapter list), even after that autosave bug made me lose 2 hours of progress. It's funny, this has been called The Anti-Uncharted, and that's t...

Most immersive game I have ever played. 0

The game play was solid and rewarding. The story is the best writing in any game I have ever played. The characters are fully realized and take life in the story. I became the main character while playing the game, and never paused to reflect how far down the rabbit hole I had gone until after the game was done. What an intense experience!...

Oh I'm Gonna Get Flamed for This'un 0

Oh The Last of Us. How I wish I could understand you. I mean I understand you perfectly, I just don't get how OTHER people understand you. I once said that this was the most overrated game of all time. I was wrong. That honor safely goes with Persona 4, this however is a close second. Lets talk about the story.Formulaic. Predictable. Well-written. That last word doesn't belong with the other two, but somehow it fits in when describing the nature of this game's story. The game stars Joel and Ell...

The Last of Us review - a landmark achievement 0

If there’s one aspect of gaming that’s really come into its own in recent years, it’s storytelling. Books, TV shows and films have been able to totally immerse us in their worlds by crafting gripping narratives and filling them with characters that we can relate to and care about, but games are traditionally more focused on things like mechanics and level design. Those that concentrate on narrative, like Telltale’s The Walking Dead, often do so at the expense of those ele...

This game is something different in a good way. 0

Alright the basics, this game is 3rd Person Over The Shoulder Post-Apocalyptic Shooter. Spoiler Alert. Wow that's a mouthful. In the game you play as Joel's Daughter, Ellie, and for most of the game Joel. The GoodGameplay: Most important to any game is the gameplay and in this case it's awesome. I liked the crafting of being able to make Molotov cocktails, smoke bombs, regular bombs, added a blade to weapons, and making medical kits to patch yourself up. This is the first game at the very least t...

Amazing game from start to finish 0

i was hooked on this game after the first 10 minutes. You will not think of anything else until you finish the game. The game is not easy and will piss you off sometimes but when you finish the story....you are emotionally drained and sad that it is over. PLAY THE GAME!!...

The Last of Us: Cormac McCarthy's Wet Dream 0

The Last of Us is a great example of how a game can transcend its medium. From the moment the first cutscene appears it’s clear that the developers at Naughty Dog put a lot of care into creating characters that look and feel as real as the ones we see in the movies. The Last of Us takes a page out of the Uncharted playbook leading with cinematic styling and character, with wonderfully talented voice actors who bring the ultra-detailed characters to life. While some of the gameplay mechani...
