    The fourth game in the Legend of Zelda series and the first one to appear on a handheld. Link is trapped on Koholint Island, and to escape he must wake the Wind Fish by finding the Eight Instruments of the Sirens.

    Link's Awakening Review

    This epic Zelda game is simply the best game ever released for the Game Boy.

    Being the first Zelda game on a handheld, Nintendo made a great success. This masterpiece includes a great story line, lots of fun battles and quality graphics for its time.

    It is a huge game for a Game Boy and holds three files. It also has eight dungeons and a trading process to master.

    I had to complete the game more than once because it is so addictive. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is into retro games or Nintendo.

      It's pretty amazing what Nintendo eventually managed to pull off with the original GB hardware after much simpler earlier titles like Tetris and SML. Case in point, Link's Awakening which translated the gameplay, mechanics and overall look of the SNES game near perfectly given the limitations, while also adding to the experience with stronger worldbuilding and major additions like platforming in two perspectives, as well as often more complex, distinct and tighter designed dungeons.
