Brad literally kept destorying those boxes even though you use them for the switch. I wish i erased my memory of OoT, would love to experience it as a new game again.

When faced with adversity, Brad Shoemaker does not think.

He strikes.

Bradson Shoemocker can bring the rage out of people.

@Beforet: With a sword.

#6 Posted by BBQBram (1996 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

Yeah it was hard to watch, but also hilarious. I love how Vinny was all cynical about this rehash but when he saw the Master Sword sequence again he was like a gleeful kid. Awesome.

Hey, Brad didn't pull a brad in this quicklook!

#8 Posted by Spoonman671 (3802 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

That was probably the most frustrating quicklook of all time.

#9 Posted by GoldenGlove (54 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

Anyone who gets upset/frustrated at Brad's play is sub-human.

#10 Posted by Nomin (873 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

Brad is such a gaming anomaly, He has an S rank in Doom for XBLA.
#11 Posted by Romination (2736 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

It was one of the funniest things I ever saw. I especially loved the *smash* "I feel like we're missing something obvious."

It feels like a movie moment, like in Harry Potter when Hermione is saying "A fire! But I haven't any wood..." and Ron reminds her to use her wand.

It is modern game design that was to blame.  It is so hand-holdy these days that it is fair to assume that if you were meant to use those crates for a puzzle they would be indestructible ;-)

#13 Posted by ArbitraryWater (9235 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

Maybe it's my fairly photographic memory about these kinds of things, but I couldn't help but cringe when he did that. However, we all have done similar crap in these kinds of games plenty of times before, so I don't blame the man for not remembering a ton about a game that he hasn't played since it came out.

#14 Posted by Cincaid (2899 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

This "lol he can't play gamez"-attitude belongs in pre-school, not here. Though I guess Internet is the biggest pre-school there is.

I'm sure all quicklooks would be a thousand times more amusing if all you pros were doing them instead.

I always rage when Brad does a QL, he always misses completely obvious things.

Give him a break.

This. I think I'm pretty damn good at video games, but I always forget to use the crates in Jabu-Jabu's belly for this exact reason. I've played through the game at least 3 or 4 times over the last 13 years, and each time, it takes me at least 20 minutes before I remember that.

#18 Posted by supermike6 (3503 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

Everyone misses things in games and feels like an idiot afterwards, it's just that Brad does it on camera.

#19 Posted by KarlPilkington (2576 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

I like it when Brad misses things, it brings out funny reactions in the comments.

#20 Posted by MiniPato (2362 posts) - 2 years, 1 day ago

It probably wouldn't have been as frustrating had Vinny not explicitly suggested putting a crate several times while he was destroying said crates.

You can make comments for a video for a reason, dickhead. Don't just come here and shit on Brad before you have produced your own Quick Look.

I have a feeling that Brad gets super nervous when doing Quick Looks because you have to be pretty damn good at games to get a S-Rank in Doom

Probably just not a very good multitasker.

The OP should really of just posted a comment under the video.

Why does that sound like that came out of a Discovery Channel program?

Brad is actually good at games, just not in QLs lol

Aye. Brad's got skills in a number of genres. It's just that he gets hit hardest by the QL effect.

That's really uncalled for.

It's obvious Brad is really good at games, but not when he's talking and recording videos at the same time. Not that big of a deal.

I, for one, can not carry on a conversation and play a game at the same time. There's a certain level of concentration some people need.

To be fair, this thread is pretty uncalled for as well.

Also, I think its that you get used to solving those switch puzzles with Ruto, so once you lose her you are like 'crap now how am I supposed to solve this?' and you end up missing very obvious solutions. It's just how the human brain works.

seems like most people couldn't actually figure out the actual meaning behind my post.

First of let me say that i've known Brad as a reviewer since GS days and follow him closely, one of my fav. reviewers next to Jeff, Secondly when i said lol" at the quicklook video i meant in a postiive way. IT was a really funny quicklook video and nostalgic because most of us were like that. I referenced brad playing it like for the first time as if i wanted that to be me in that situation, trying to figure stuff out in the game for the first time, i still remember it(althoug h not like that). People on here seem to think i'm taking the piss, i'm actually praising the video if anything, one of my fav. quicklooks for a while. You act like if Brad wouldn't laugh at it if he watches it over again. Lucikly for him he has a sense of humour.

Some of you need to take that dildo out of your ass and invest in some sense of humour. ...Or only that guy who randomely called me a dickhead because he thinks he's well hard on the internet.

What do you think the acronym "lol" actually means? Get rid of that Pilkington Avatar, he's much smarter than you.

@CrazyChris does not have a Pilkington avatar, I do.

And my comment was not in reference to your post, but to the general reaction to the quick-look.

Brad has stated before his affinity with Doom, an unfortunate quick look but he's certainly leagues above some other journalists in gaming.

Well, if the original poster is going to try and escalate the flaming in this thread, then there's no reason for this discussion to continue.

These sort of discussions/quips are typically best left to the quick look's comments, regardless.
