    The Game of Legends

To me, "Ocarina of Time" is one of the greatest games ever made as well as my personal favorite Zelda game...

At the time of creation this game was a huge step forward for the series being the first 3D rendered Zelda game. Originally meaning to be run on the same engine as Super Mario 64 the thought was scarped and the game was created in such a way that it went over and above what they could have done on the original system. The look isn't all though, graphics don't make a game, the gameplay and the story do.

The story followed the same routine as most of the Zelda games to this point but was carried out in a way that was much more expansive than the previous games. For example as the title suggests you had the use of time in the game, this meant that you would transverse from a younger Link to an older one and vice versa. Each age of Link was able to do or use something that the other was not able to, meaning you had to switch between them to get through certain ares of the game.

Now, the gameplay, of course being the first 3D rendered Zelda game it had to carry out the gameplay a good bit differently as there was more area where things could be done. This lead to things like exploding the base of a tower so it would drop allowing you to climb up it or running down Ganondorf's Castle dodging falling rocks and leaping over gaps to avoid death. However, this was also the first game that introduced a targetting system so Link would stay looking at an enemy to attack, allowing us to better attack it with a sword or to shoot an arrow or slingshot bullet at it.

These reasons, and many more are why I give The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time a 5out of 5.

An unpopular opinion of a popular game 0

Brace yourselves, this one's gonna sting....The 3D Zelda games bore me. Okay, I can't say that with absolute certainty: I've never touched Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword. But the rest? Yawns aplenty. The most offensive to my sense of fun is the much-loved, oft-deified Ocarina of Time. Now I didn't have a Nintendo 64 as a lad, but I did have several opportunities to play, and a couple of them were for extended periods. I also ended up with it on two compilation discs for the Gamecube. Time an...
