No. I have had a Wii since launch and I have bought many games for it. Fortunately and unfortunately I haven't played Wii much until about a year ago so I have many games that I need to catch up on. I recently bought Metroid Prime Trilogy.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Nov 18, 2011
Link descends from his floating continent home to explore the dark and dangerous world below with the help of a magical sword, in this Wii installment of the Legend of Zelda series.
Is Skyward the first Wii game you've bought this year?

I have finally decided to buy a Wii, so Skyward Sword will be my first Wii purchase ever.
You'd be better off borrowing a Wii from a friend who no longer uses it.
I bought Galaxy 2 and Okami earlier this year, and I'll get round to buying Donkey Kong and Kirby once I'm done with SS, Saint's Row and Skyrim. I've also managed to put off buying Brawl despite having played a shit ton of Melee in the past; I should probably go ahead and get that at some point.
I haven't bought one since launch. Serious. Wario Ware Smooth Moves is an awesome game, Twilight Princess bored the shit outta me and I refuse to buy another Zelda game for a console I despise... no matter how good it looks.
I only keep it because I hoard things and to remind myself that buying a gimmicky console is a bad idea... it's next to my 3DS with a copy of Rayman in it. sigh

I bought Epic Yarn earlier this year so I could play that with my niece and nephew. And I might've bought No More Heroes 2 for like 15 bucks at some point this year. Although that might've been last year. I can't remember. Either way I haven't touched it yet.
But I do get consistent use from the Wii. Earlier this year my nephew and I played through Zack and Wiki, New Super Mario Bros., Super Paper Mario, as well as the aforementioned Epic Yarn, as I would have to watch him after he got out of school because I was the only one who could. Also during a 2 week vacation my family enjoyed playing Wii Sports Resort on downtime at night or when the weather was shitty. On my own time I've replayed large amounts of Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, and lately I'd been playing the gamecube Fire Emblem Path of Radiance on my Wii, and I finally got around to playing Metroid Prime 3 this summer. And I guess Wii sports and Wii sports resort have become the games I play when I'm not "playing a game" so I have played them off and on since I got a Wii. All told, I've been rather satisfied with the console.
Best games EVER. Seriously, the Wii is worth owning just for this game alone .... although there is so much more fun to be had. Fire Emblem has soaked up so many hours of my life.
First game I bought since Wario Ware Smooth Moves just after the launch. Rented Mario Galaxy, didn't like it much (yeah, in the minority I know), bought Metroid Prime Trilogy to flip it on eBay (price was higher then). Played Twilight Princess for 40+ hours and got bored of it (checked my save file the other day, tried to pick it up, have to go find statues to complete letters in a book, bored again).
But I'm loving Skyward Sword... strange. But that must say something about it's quality.
