- Aonuma says that recent Zeldas have been focusing on things like story and dungeons. Skyward will instead simply focus on "fun".

I cringed when I read this. I was hoping they would overhaul the story and dungeons in the game, not downplay them. Also, Nintendo claims it will have a new map and be harder to get "lost." I really hope this game will turn out good, but this is the first time a Zelda reveal hasn't been the highlight of E3 for me, personally.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Nov 18, 2011
Link descends from his floating continent home to explore the dark and dangerous world below with the help of a magical sword, in this Wii installment of the Legend of Zelda series.
New Zelda Will Focus on "Fun," Not "Story and Dungeons"
I, too, care more about the deep, complex storylines of the fucking LEGEND OF ZELDA series, casual gamers ruining everything, etc. etc. Jesus Christ.
"Fun"? Oh shit can't have that in my video games.
Also, it sounds like another prequel in the whole "timeline mess" (which I don't really believe in, but some might) that will explain the origin of the Master Sword. Or something.

Oh shit, SPOILERS, sorry everybody.
"I have no issue with casual gamers or any of that stuff (I actually think the casual movement is good for games), but Zelda is in need of an overhaul in terms of design. I also think there are plenty of games that prove good stories and fun are not mutually exclusive. I would just enjoy Nintendo taking a risk with the franchise and broaden its cinematic and immersive scope. There's plenty of material in Zelda that is capable of being deepened without damaging the tone of the series.I, too, care more about the deep, complex storylines of the fucking LEGEND OF ZELDA series, casual gamers ruining everything, etc. etc. Jesus Christ.

Guys, listen, if I can't arrange the Legend of Zelda games in a specific chronological timeline story order, my Assburgers Syndrome will flare up.

" so long it's not "on-rail" zelda its ok. did they reveal how Zelda will look like in this version? "Just check out the gameplay vids brah
Honestly, that's not a bad move. A "story so far" feature would also go a long ways towards making the games much more manageable after an extended break.
Just because they are focusing on making the game more fun, doesn't mean that there can't be a great story. TP was kind of a let down for me, so I'm open for change.
" God damn it, the last thing i want is a game that is fun. Fact: only homosexuals like fun things "Hey, I like fun... and I'm gay... it must be true!!!

Gotta love how a developer saying that they're focusing on making a game fun is seen as a condemning statement. Especially for a series where the story has served little purpose beyond window dressing anyway.
Has no one learned their lesson after Wind Waker? Relax, it's all going to be just fine. It's fucking Zelda.
My guess that this is just a summarized comment that probably leads to people misinterpreting it.
Much like almost everything else.
Although I hope the people here are just joking.
" Gotta love how a developer saying that they're focusing on making a game fun is seen as a condemning statement. Especially for a series where the story has served little purpose beyond window dressing anyway. "I understand that. I just wish they weren't taken as mutually exclusive entities. Just because you want the game to be "fun" doesn't mean you can't bolster the areas of the game that are starting to age a little more.
" As someone who hates the dungeons in Zelda, this is actually a cool announcement. Now they just need to fix up the HUD. Why the crap do I need the whole freaking WiiMotion Plus and Nunchuck on the screen the whole time I'm playing? "They said you can turn the HUD off, thank God. I was wondering the same thing.
I'm pretty happy about this. I hated all of Twilight Princess's dungeons and thought the story was boring. Going back to OOT's minimal plot is a step in the right direction in my book.
