They sound extremely similar.. not exactly the best example of mindblowing reversed recording :/

Anyway, i've never played a Zelda game, but this must be exciting for OoT fans

Confirmed: When it comes out, if you play OoT3D backwards its actually a demo version of Skyward Sword.

But dude, wow, Nintendo is both sneaky and...insert some joke about them constantly rehashing stuff.

Nah, man, that trailer tune honestly sounds like nothing to me. It's got no hook(s) and just seems like a bunch of disconnected orchestral chords that sound generically impressive but have no real structure.

But when it's reversed? Hooboy, that's something iconic and cool and important.

It's called reversed or "crab" counterpoint, the technique is several hundred years old and this doesn't even have a second or third voice to go against.

It's neat I suppose.

The thing is the song doesn't sound any good forward, it only sounds good when it's Zelda's Lullaby.

Nintendo does this a lot. It's pretty cool.

Boo's laugh is a sped-up Bowser's, and vice-versa (it's more obvious at the end when they speed up Bowser's laugh x2):

The beginning of the Majora's Mask song "End of the World" is the teleporter sound in Wind Waker.

For a long time I had been criticizing people on liking Zelda because I always though Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were not very good. However, ever since getting my 3DS and running through Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, I have learned to love Zelda. I am not sure I can go back to Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask due to their exclusivity to an older system, but the remake for the 3DS and Skyward sword may change my outlook on Zelda overall.

This is the kind of madness that is only eclipsed by the part where the Gamecube's menu screen was totally the fanicom start up theme slowed down 20 times or something to that effect

Was going to include that in my post, but figured most people didn't know or care about the Famicom's start up theme.

@onarum: I've never owned any Nintendo console, well, except Gamecube and the Wii, but I never used them anyway. I'm more of a Sony guy, and more so a PC guy.
