My primary reason for not buying the game. I don't want to spend money on one-off peripherals on a dying platform.

The other option is to buy the bolt-on version of Motion Plus. Motion Plus is essential to play the game.

You could pick up a second hand one for pretty cheap these days.

Only if you buy the special edition which comes with a gold controller. Otherwise, it's separate. I bought Motion Plus for $15 a couple weeks ago just to be ready.

Oh. For some reason, I was under the impression that the MotionPlus would be bundled with the game, Wii Play style. Didn't know you needed to buy it separately.

Well... guess I'm not buying Skyward Sword then.

Buy the bundle or buy FlingSmash or something (a pretty fun game in its own right) . It's far from worth missing a main series Zelda title because of a silly bundle issue you have. I bought the gold controller bundle ages ago 'cause I did my research, but it's not like I'm lacking in Wiimotes, Motion+ or otherwise.

Yeah it sucks that you need to get a peripheral (kind of like Majora's Mask with the expansion pack), but ultimately it's worth the purchase cause it's a really fun game so far.
