The Legendary Starfy is a cute kids-oriented platformer developed by TOSE Co., Ltd. for the Nintendo DS, and is the first in its franchise to come to North America.
Nintendo of America has released some new screens of the English version of "Dire Pirate Squad", known outside Japan as The Legendary Starfy. TOSE's 2D platformer features two player co-op during boss battles, and specific areas, as well as mini-games.
American DS owners can expect the game on the 8th of June, with a European release yet to be confirmed.
I have played a little via a friends import copy and I came away mighty impressed. I'm really happy this game is finally getting a western release, it's classic 2D platforming fare, which the DS needs more of.
Dude, it's an awesome little game. I felt like stealing my friends copy for a couple days. I hope we in Europe don't have to wait to long, if we do, screw waiting, I can get an import copy from the US.
"There has been a lot of debate on the translation of the name. As this is the first western translation, I suppose this has to be the correct name.
I love the cuteness factor. Certainly worth checking out.

I think Starfi wouldn't have worked in the U.S, I think that's what they were going to initially call it, they obviously backed out though. It's better this way.
