When i first saw this package in the steam store i was very surprised. How could they sell so many games for such a low price? Surely some of them must be crappy or boring, but after purchasing and playing all of them i found my favorite game of the package wasn't even the one i originally bought the package for. Half-Life 2: Episode 2 was a great game and the storyline left me craving episode 3 but i found that portal stole my heart. I really hope (but doubt) that publishers will take something from the orange box's example and produce some quality games and not overcharge for them.

The only real "new" content in that package was portal and TF2, imo. HL2 had already been released previously, and ep. 1 was pretty darn short and was just like an extra couple of levels. So, yeah the price is good, but I don't think they could have got away with charging more for those games.

Valve always has something up their sleeves. I'm surprised that they don't make a sort of online Counter-Strike game for the consoles though.

Valve is an amazing company, and is definitely one of the best developers out there. Words can't describe how great they are, just buy some of their games (I'm sure many of you have) and you'll understand.

Valve absolutely knows what appeases the gaming community and The Orange Box was a testament to that. I can't wait for Episode 3!

I don't think Valve would venture so far into consoles only because thanks to Steam they've pretty much cornered the PC gaming community and talked about how large it is and how more companies should get into the PC gaming community so I doubt they'll jump into console gaming, and Counter-Strike came out on xbox but I think you can't play it on xbox 360

Loved the Orange Box for giving me a challenging and fun thinking game (Portal), lasting multiplayer experience (Team Fortress 2), and great episodic content (HL2: EP2). It is truly a value for gamers.

All of the games run on the same engine, all of the new content is rather short. And HL2 and EP1 were basically free bonuses

Yes you can, I have CS for Xbox and it works on Xbox 360, and I do believe Valve is starting to jump on the Consoles just to expand their fan-base, the main reason why updates are slow to the 360 though is because of MS certification thing. I wish MS would just back off and let Valve do their own thing because as it stands Valve currently is running a PC community better than Xbox Live. I wish I could play games online with my PC but for some reason I get shitty connections yet when I play on my Xbox 360 I have a near perfect connection. Damn wireless routers.

This just goes to show you that valve cares more about games then proffits. If all companies were like valve the industry would be a very different place

    Half-Life 2's expansions are an ostensible sequel.  Episodes 1, 2, and 3 are Half-Life 3
