Overview
The Ren & Stimpy Show: Fire Dogs is a video game adaptation of the 1990s Nickelodeon cartoon Ren & Stimpy; specifically, the ninth episode of the first season "Fire Dogs". As in the episode, both Stimpy and Ren paint themselves to resemble Dalmatians so they can get free meals at the local fire station.
In order to avoid detection, they need to find paint and keep away from sources of water which will wash the paint away. In addition, they need to avoid other obstacles like buckets of fire. If the player successfully recovers all the items needed for firefighting and attaches them to the fire engine on the ground floor, the game moves onto a fire-fighting stage in which Ren and Stimpy must catch items with their safety net.
Fire Dogs is the third of four Super Nintendo games based on the TV show, and the sixth Ren and Stimpy game overall.
