Beta weekend starts tonight, wanananow!

Im in the beta... Is there a game there? So far it's been minutes of animated cutscenes which are too boring and long to sit through, followed by dropping me into situations where i have no idea what to do.

I pre-ordered the game, if you guys are going to start a cabal, i would like to be a part of it. I'm from Europe, i don't know if that's ok.

I don't know who i'm gonna play as. I just played Templar and Dragon in the beta weekends, never tried the Illuminati.

Will there be a GiantBomb guild or not?

So, two problems.

Problem 1: Cabals(TSW's term for guilds) are secret society specific. IE: You'll need to have everyone agree on a secret society first, as you cannot have illuminati+templar+dragon members in the cabal.

Problem 2: If you don't name it Lincoln Force there is something wrong with you.

Other than that, The Templar seem to be the least dickish of the three societies, so I'd vote for that. Strangely enough, the Dragon are the most dickish.

Note that I'm speaking of their story presence, not the players themselves. The Templar are like "We do what we must", the Illuminati is "We do what we want", the Dragon are "Do as you're told" which makes no sense since they're supposed to be about chaos... but whatever.

I plan on playing this starting friday anyone else joins in and wants to get a guild going should probably post as such below so we can get some idea of whether theirs enough of us to do so or not

So for society, I'm leaning toward Templar, but I could go Illuminati. I played Dragon in the beta (because I don't want to in the main) and it confirmed my suspicions about that. Throw your votes down and by tonight we'll decide.

For server, it appears like they aren't doing any pre-selection. Sounds like we're half Euro (I'm midwest NA). Don't even know what they're called to pick one in advance.

I didn't like Dragon also. I don't know why, the setting didn't appeal to me. And regarding our location, i don't even know how they are going to handle servers. By region? Or we can play wherever we want?

For society, i vote for Templar.

I"ll be on Friday and I'd prefer Illuminati but I could go Templar if the majority rolls that way.

I am down for whatever as far as society goes, whichever we dont use I will probably roll at some point anyway. I am on east coast time so whatever server we go on will be fine with me

I'm in Wichita(which if people remember me calling in to numerous live shows have probably heard Ryan delcare), and would prefer Templar, but would take Illuminati if the chips fell that way. The NDA is lifted on CB, so I can post the list of server names incase they're not posted outside of the Beta forums. These are the current official server names:

• Cerberus
• Daemon
• Arcadia (RP dimension) (Note: Incase you've seen a published list and saw this name otherwise, the RP server was previously named Faerie, but was changed because apparently some people that want to play on the RP server have the minds of small children.)
• Grim
• Huldra
• Drac (French dimension)
• Kobold (German dimension)

I don't think there's any timezones associated with any of them besides the obvious French/German ones.

I can only play on launch day. I bought the game from G2Play and they will only send keys on launch. So, no early access for me.

Why not Cerberus unless you folk wanna roll play. Which I'll enjoy typing evrythink mit a German aksunt.

I'll join you guys on Tuesday, i think...? Whenever the game launches. I don't know yet what my name will be. I will announce it later. During BWE i always played as an assault rifle user. I don't know if i'm sticking with it or not.

I'm downloading the client for early access now, I'm at 24.4GB/14.4GB I have no idea why it's doing that.

I'll be on later, probably as Silver "Trayal" Belmont. Because the belmonts would totally be part of the templar (hell, one of the Deck outfits, for Paladin, looks like it's a belmont costume)

I will probably be going Shotguns and Hammers. If I remember right, that will focus me as AOE DPS with some ability to switch out, but builds only really matter for early game. After a while you can do whatever you want.

I didn't even think to come on here before I rolled my character. Luckily I did roll a Templar and on Cerberus. See you all in game!

The way the server system works makes it irrelevant which server you decide to create your character on. It is easy to switch around and be with your cabal.

If you guys post your name here I can log on and send invites, I think, if Brodehouse isn't on.

Wow, just noticed this after I created my char (luckily a Templar already). I'd love an invite when you get the chance: name's Celestinia.

I've got Eisen and Trayal friended, but if anyone else I didn't add wants to shoot me an invite I'll be on till about 8PM PST. Character name Luxy.

Has anyone else run into this awesome situation where all the FUCKING tanks are not wearing any FUCKING damage protection gear. I tried to heal that cthulu boss, which is hard enough with a proper tank but then my tank had 0 damage protection and just had a bunch of +200 life stuff on...

@Dizzyhippos: Woah. Calm down. Stop getting mad at video games.

That being said, it's entirely possible they hadn't run across any damage protection gear. I haven't run into one yet and I'm done with the first half of Kingsmouth. Most gear drops and quest rewards have been one of the following: Bigattack+Medium life+sidestat, Biglife+small attack+sidestat, Bighealbuff+smalllife+smallattack. None of the side stats so far has been damage protection.

If that's all they're seeing, they may not even be aware it exists (Having never seen any during beta, I'm not sure it does either, at least not through Kingsmouth/Savage Coast)

I still haven't got into the second tiers. Got to buy the elite skills on three of the first tiers.

So, how are you enjoying the game? I still have to wait until Tuesday :(

Dammit, forgot to check here first and made my primary a Dragon. I just got out of Kingsmouth too and I really dont feel like running through all that again. Sigh...

I joined some random cabal and it seems weird they have a society column in the cabal window. Maybe they'll open it up. Or maybe they were going to and never removed the column.

I wanted to try the game but Illuminati strikes my fancy more than templars, have fun guys :)

For anyone that went other than Templar. Just because you're dragon and/or illuminati doesn't mean you can't group with us. Just add the Nickname's we've mentioned to your friends list, I'm sure anyone would be happy to help people out and group up with questing and stuff.

The cabal separation is mostly for Faction PvP, which I'll never partake in anyway, but it is sad it segments us as such.

Good point. Will do. My character is GlowingEmber if anyone wants to add me.

The chat system is pretty good too. You can create your own channels. So it wouldn't be a stretch to have an additional cross faction chat if that was desired. Unless they fixed it in this patch though, you have to resubscribe to chat channels after zoning.

Hopefully by the time I have a computer that can actually handle this game (I am still honestly shocked that my 8 year old computer can run half the things it can, but a new computer is in the near future I hope) this guild will still be active since I have some interest in this game. Until then though, hope the rest of you have a good time with the game.

@AnnoyedGuy: Good point. No idea if it'll stay functional, but I've made/joined a custom channel of GiantBomb.

@Brodehouse: I totally didn't realize that you paraphrased our conversation and put it in the Cabal screen. To those wondering, that's a real exchange we had during a quest. I didn't realize my response would be funny. (I have the joke capability of a lima bean.)
