    It's a standalone game, not an addon for Sims 3. There's a lot of overlap between the two however.

    and there is no online for pets, even though you get a code for an ea pass and theres a pass to be purchased on xbl, i just got done talking to a rep at ea and he said its completely offline, so ya ill like to add that code is pointless for sims 3 pets
