I saw an ad for an Activision game for TWD coming out later so
does this mean that this passive type of game is gone for good?
I actually thought it was a pretty interesting yarn & was hoping
it would continue on, but it looks like it's finished.

Nope, Telltale has said there will be a season 2. Activision's game is a shooter based on the TV show.

Yep. Season 2 I imagine will come in another year or so. I don't have high hopes for the Activision game.

I think Tell Tale stated that there would be a season 2 but Activision's game is a shooter based on the show with no real connection to what Tell Tale is doing.

@Lind_L_Taylor: Nope. Season 2 will come out next year or so. Activisions game is going to be about Deryl and Merle before they met up with the rest of the people in season 1. It's also going to be an FPS developed by Terminal Reality.

20 bucks says it turns out atrocious.

@JasonR86: I try to keep an open mind about games, even those from Activision and EA but, it's hard to imagine that game being anything other than another CoD engine game with a zonmbie skin over it.

Telltale has been making these kinds of games for years, so even if there wasn't going to be a season 2 "this type of game" isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

A game about Merle & Darly?  Great. A sequel to Redneck Roundup ("Git off mah layan!").

Aside from Mass Effect, not seen that many like this, though this game seems a bit forced
to one plot direction no matter what you pick.

@Lind_L_Taylor: A game about Merle & Deryl. Yes, that sounds great. But published by Activision and developed by Terminal Reality. Sounds like excrement.

The game has been hugely successful for them. So successful that they had to move into a bigger studio to accommodate their rapid hiring process. Looks like they're amping things up for Season 2.

@Lind_L_Taylor: You said "passive type games", so I thought you meant story focused adventure games, which is Telltale's bread and butter.

The only similarities between Mass Effect and The Walking Dead is the focus on choices that carry between episodes. If that's what you meant I don't see that necessarily going away either, although not many developers are willing to do multi-episode games.

It's passive because you don't actually do anything half the time.  The
puzzles are easy as hell, so it's a barely-interactive TV show.  I still like
it but I wish it was harder.  There were some 90s horror video games
that were like this but it was awesome due to the fact that the puzzles
were a lot harder to figure out.  Anyhow, I'll play the Telltale games,
once, but doesn't feel like much of a need to play it again afterwards.
I've already S-ranked the thing. lol.

Would be cool if Clementine had a cameo in The Walking Dead TV show as Andy would know her.

Andy? Also, game takes place in comic universe, not the television show.

Oops I mean Glenn, Have no Idea where Andy came from, he was in Episode 1 and is a main character in the show.

It wouldn't be season 2 if there was no connection to season 1. Also the post credit scene makes it obvious the she will be in season 2.
