They sure screwed up the choices for episode 2

#1 Posted by Hunkulese (2694 posts) -

If they were aiming for a 50/50 split. I made the same choice as more than 80% for 3 of my choices although I am surprised how many people decided to let the St. John brothers live. I thought there would be far more people playing this with the looking out for number one attitude.

I don't think they were aiming for 50/50, they just gave us two options which I doubt they could correctly guess what the majority would choose.

The weird one for me was the first choice with the band director guy. I wasn't even aware that was a choice to be made. When I beat the game last night and it said, "You and 80% of other people made this choice", it threw me, because I didn't even know it was a choice to be made differently.

Yea I noticed that too. I don't remember the option for not chopping off the band directors leg in the band trap.

@HumanityPlague: @NoobSauceG7: You simply do not do it, you try other options and eventually your group just has to leave.

@Jay_Ray: Oh ok. Thanks for letting me know.

I haven't tested this, so I don't know if it is correct, but isn't the choice actually before trying to chop off his leg? Don't they ask you if you're going to help or not?

Also, I was under the impression the 50/50 thing was more about choices in which you had to pick who you saved. If the split is skewed 75-25 (like I think the last choice in the first episode is), then that means they kind of failed in creating two useful and/or appealing characters.

Edit - Clarified that I meant the last choice in the first episode.

I feel like choosing to let them both live was more of a moral choice, one option which had two different outcomes. If you killed them both yourself, they'd be dead instantly. I chose to let them live as I assumed the zombies would actually kill them, however the player could've also believed they'd be morally correct in letting them live and that they aren't succumbing to killing humans.

What was more interesting was even though a lot of people hated that fucking father of Lilly's and wanted to punch him out more people chose to not kill him

Didn't kill the brothers because of clementine. Going through with a "hold on to humanity" rule. Was more irritated that kenny kept saying that I never side with him despite the fact I replayed episode 1 again before continuing and sided with him ever time. Not big on kenny now, better watch his step.

rejoice! the good of mankind has been proven!

Well, you can kill one of the brothers and it will still say you didn't kill both the brothers at the end. Kinda wish they would of separated the two. I killed the first brother and let the 2nd one live. Mainly cuz the first guy was super creepy and I wanted to get revenge for Mark. Andy, the second brother just seemed rather pathetic at the end so I spared him and I didn't want to get the bad reaction from Clementine again.

Yeah, I was thinking about this and it seems to me that they kinda had to do that to create more tension in the walk-in. It was my only complaint story-wise. Technically the game was kind of ass during the second half it kept hitching and stuttering, I hope they patch it.

This was my exact thought process too.

Same here.

There's some odd things in this one. Is there an alternative solution to getting by the lock? I didn't want to sabotage, risking the group, just go get in there. Then at the end I found myself in a QTE that I was supposed to fail (face vs fence)? I kept up with it for 90 seconds or so and then let it "fail" to continue the story. More than the first ep though, I think it could be worth replaying this one.

I think the choice for killing the last two people was always going to favour not killing BOTH of them, beacuse it breaks down to the choices of:

Kill neither, kill only first (my choice), kill only second vs kill both

I Killed the first brother but then didn't want to upset Clem again by killing the second the guy who was already beaten up and was no threat

Ya I guess it could be closer but still the choices were great. And the last option is right on the money with the 50/50 mark

Dude, for Clementine. For Clementine, dude.

Looking back at the results for the first episodes, most of those choices seem really divided. This time around it's a lot more lopsided.

I hated his fucking guts, but I still went to save him.

Dude, for Clementine. For Clementine, dude.

Also, this. No one touches Clementine, or faces will be bashed in with salt stones. The worst 2 moments of this was getting knocked out and not knowing if she was okay, and letting her go alone through the vent to who-knows-where.
