Amazon is having a sale of this game for $36, but I don't want to buy it if I can't import it to Steam. It's not on their list here;

I have no interest in installing DVDs. If that's what I have to do I'd rather drop the extra $15 for the Steam version.

Why Steam? Because some people aren't terrified of DRM and appreciate the ability to always have it available for download/easy patching?

no you can't activate it on steam.  You can add a non steam game if you want to use the overlay.   But achievements you will not get.
