All the Witcher 3 talk is making me want to finally play this game. CD projekt seem like a PC first developer. How does the controller support feel, like an after thought? Will I have a better time with a keyboard?

Do yourself a favor and play the original "The Witcher" (2007) instead. It's much better, IMO. Also, I played through both "The Witcher" and "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" with mouse & keyboard and it worked just fine.

I played it with controller and it played fine. I never thought, "this part was clearly for a mouse and keyboard." Keep in mind the game was developed for 360, too, so there's nothing to worry about.

I have played the original Witcher. I liked it a lot. I just haven't had a chance to get to Witcher 2 yet.

Combat was fine on a keyboard and mouse is always vastly superior for menu management in RPGs.

Controller support is great now, wasn't at release. I personally cannot play Action RPG's with a KB&M. Feels so clunky.

Having just recently played through it again: keyboard and mouse. The controller always had a severe amount of input lag (at least for me), and many of the menus are a chore to operate with the controller.

In Witcher 2 controller is basically better. The only exception is menu navigation which is better on mouse and keyboard. That said 3DProjekt have been very honest.... Witcher 3 was designed with consoles in mind from day one... so expect it to play best on a controller.
