So how will the voice-acting be this time?

Loved the witcher as much as anyone, but the VO was nearly unbearable. Not just the delivery, but the pacing the dialog took and the convoluted conversations were terrible as well. From what I've seen it doesn't look too bad. Are there any extended dialog videos, previews/reviews, or dev speak out there that would led you to believe it'll be better this time?

I hope it's a lot better. We will find out soon enough.

The Enhanced edition really improved the VA. I expect it will be fine.

From the trailers the english sound better.  But at least they are giving us a few language packs to choose from if the voice acting is pretty fail.

I have played only the "enhanced edition" and I didn't like the VA at all. I don't want to imagine what it was like in the vanilla game...

I didn't mind it that much. As long as it's not like Bethesda, I'm fine with it.

I played the EE as well and if that was an improvement, I dont ever want to hear the original.

I just dont hope CD Projekt has to release an witcher 2 evolved edition and record a bunch of voice over

I couldn't stand Dandelion's English Voice actor, so I just played it in Polish with subtitles, I'll probably do the same for TW2.

It'll probably be bad.  Whatever, didn't really hamper my enjoyment of the first game much.

Fingers crossed it will be decent.

Have you even watched a single video of this game yet?

Voice acting was good in Witcher EE, apart from a few bad lines. The video's of TW2 show that they've seriously improved their VO's

Fingers crossed they hired more than 5 VOs and made more than 3 peasant character models.

Yea from the trailers it seems a lot better. Pluss after the success of the first game they have more money to get it right.

Yeah I got the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher, so I didn't experience any bad voice-acting. Still, some aren't top-notch, but I'm guessing it's still 10x better than the original? Also, from all the voice acting in the gameplay footages in The Witcher 2, it looks pretty good.

The best thing ever

I hope it's better this time around. Though, even if it is less than stellar, you could probably get used to it after a few hours of play.

Better, hopefully.

@MrOldboy: Did you play EE? They re-recorded basically all the dialogue and it was a far better experience overall.

I didn't mind it to be honest.

No I'm on media blackout for the most part.

I think the voice acting will be better this time around. The first witcher was an unexpected hit on pc as far as game sales go.

So for the sequel the developers have had more resources available to them. So they probably have invested a bit more development time into finding good voices for the in-game characters and having dialogue that matches the polish one.

In the first witcher the english dialogue didnt match the original polish dialogue. They had to cut a certain amount of spoken dialogue because of budget restraints.

I think they have most of the same voice actors, but the delivery is supposed to be much better.

Then maybe you shouldn't be making statements like: "It'll probably be bad"

I'm not an expert on how VO is added to games, but do developers usually do localization in house? I was under the assumption they or publishers pay an outside company to do it. I'd like to think all devs do it themselves, but there's no way they recorded 10 languages for the enhanced edition themselves right? If they did use an external company, hopefully they chose a new one this time.
looking around and found this bit of news.  http://www.shacknews.com/article/49819/the-witcher-script-heavily-edited
