Really glad GB gave this game props during their GOTY discussion, despite the fact that only Vinny really played it. Such an incredible game (and a gorgeous one also, even on lowest settings).

Greg Kasavin called The Witcher 2, "The best game by Bioware since Mass Effect 2, except it isn't even made by Bioware!"

I haven't had a chance to play it. If only I had a good enough PC, I'm pretty sure it would have been my personal GotY.

It's definitely the best looker, with Battlefield 3 not that far behind; the art style and lighting/ambient effects in The Witcher 2 are unbeatable.

Been playing with everything maxed out @ 1900x1080. I feel like they went a little overboard with some of the effects and the textures can be somewhat shoddy in some places, other than that it looks great, though.

It's a shame it's impossible to force it to use AA.

@Duskwind: I don't actually agree with Greg that it's a BioWare game at all, though it does fit into their traditional structure. The Witcher 2 is EXTREMELY DARK in a way only matched by A Song of Ice and Fire; Warhammer looks funny-light in comparison to The Witcher 2's grimdark fantasy.

That said, I can easily support this game in a best looking bid. I personally think Catherine and Bastion looked better, but that's a matter of art design rather than technical ability. Games look GOOD this year, you guys.

The witcher 2 was my GoTY pick. Skyrim is just the same old bullshit with a new coat of snow colored paint.

One of the best games of all time in my opinion. It managed to surpass even the awesomeness that was the original in practically every way. It's one of the reasons I want to build a gaming PC just so I can enjoy it fully on high settings without the lag.

So good-looking I won't be able to play it until I upgrade my PC. It's been a long time since I've had to say that...

I don't think screenshots do it justice, it just looks a lot better in motion
