Where can I acquire Vran Armor Enhancement? I need it to craft Vran Armor, but have no idea where to get it. I have a feeling that I already used it to improve some other armor...

Yes, if you don't have i in your inventory in chapter 3 you're screwed.

Your only other option is to install a mod that adds epic items for sale to innkeepers, and buy a piece of Vran armor that way.

It is weaker and no you don't have to wear it, nothing changes, it is just necessary for it to be in your inventory (which it will, being a required quest item anyway).

When you get them depends on the order you do quests in, so it's possible to get one way sooner then the other, it is also possible to not get a reward from Deathmold.
