I bought The Witcher 2 yesterday in the steam sale. I started it up this morning to mess with the settings. If I just choose the basic Medium settings it runs great. If I bump it up to the High settings its OK, but a little laggy. So I was wondering if you could help me figure out the best settings to turn on or off. I'm fairly new to PC games, especially High end ones.

Here are my specs,

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz

CPU is 2.5hz

8GB RAM

Geforce GT 650M

From what I know, the 650M is a mid range graphics card. To be honest the best method is just to tinker with each individual setting and see what frame rate you get. I've got a 660Ti and running SWTOR for example, on some settings I get 20 fps, with a bit of adjustment I get 50!

Usually anything like AA & bloom etc are more intensive so try tinkering with them. As far as I know there is never really a known answer for PC's, it really does differ from machine to machine.

Thanks. for now I have High Settings but I lowered the Resolution. I just finished the tutorial so we'll see how it goes.
