I like quake III
i like quake III too
I also love the quake 3.
meh
I never really realized people played Quake III that much. I remember playing the fuck out of Quake Arena and even Quake II, but I just remember Quake III as something that came out and sort of fizzled. Personally, I disliked all the levels that were up high with the whole "oh no, don't fall off the edge" stuff. I fucking hate those levels in games and it seemed like that was every fucking map in Quake III. It's weird when I hear people reminiscing about Quake -- and they mean Quake III.

Quake III: Arena was "Quake III".
Brad looks so good with sunglasses. Never not funny.
Anyone else getting disturbance in the videos? Been getting it quite a bit lately. Running a MacBook Pro with Lion.
Oh god the fov... i don't think i've ever seen quake3 with less than 120fov for more than 30 seconds.
@Nefhril
Yeah i've been having it too - I find if I use the HTML5 video option then I don't get the same problem though.
Oh look a FPS.
brad in sunglasses and quake jersey makes the happiest ever.
Ahh I recall the good ol days. I had the tin-box version of this when it was released.

Oops -- I meant Rocket Arena.
Norm is too competitive for his own good.
It's really not like that at all. I don't think any of these open space maps are the ones that are still played. They were fun FFA maps, but that was it, the most played ones are "indoors".

Yeah, using progressive or HTML5, instead of Streaming will fix it.
Problem is you can't fast forward with progressive, and can't use HTML5 if you're not a paid member
@Branthog: I think you mean Quake 1, Rocket Arena is a mod or mode that exists for all the Quake games. Actually Q3 was huge with a lot of tournaments everywhere around the world.. mad skills back then is all I can say, mad skills.
There aren't even that many "space maps" in Quake 3 and competitively (leagues/tournaments) no one ever played any of those to begin with. I guess you just missed the years in which Q3 was big.

Good thing I'm a paying member then :)
If I use HTML5 + High it works but when Using HTML5 + HD I get the same issue. Guess I have to stick with High and not HD.
Quake 3 Arena might actually be THE best game ever created. If someone were to put me on the spot I think this is the first answer that would come to mind.
