Tintin is an adventurous investigative journalist, who usually finds himself in different adventures all around the world. His faithful dog Snowy (Milou in the original French) is always accompanying him. Tintin meets his best friend and companion, Captain Archibald Haddock, during his investigation of the case of The Crab with the Golden Claws. Tintin's books were more action-packed and action-focused before Haddock's introduction, but Captain Haddock successfully provided comic-relief in all of the later books. Tintin is very logical and is often described as bland by literary critics.
