The feathered-serpent god of the Aztecs and greater Mesoamerica. An important deity, he had a hand in the creation of humans, played a role as the Sun, and was the patron god of priests.
Tezcatlipoca was a rival god to Quetzalcoatl in Aztec lore, as depicted in their struggle over creation in the myth of the Five Suns. Tezcatlipoca's name means "Smoking Mirror" which refers to the use of obsidian to make mirrors used for shamanic rituals.
The god of rain and lighting in Aztec mythology. He had been known to demand child sacrifices.
