Todd Porter started out his career at Richard Garriott's Origin Systems. He moved to 7th Level where he met Jerry O'Flaherty. Todd and Jerry both moved to John Romero's Ion Storm after having a discussion with him and Tom Hall. Todd Porter is regarded as one of the main reasons for Ion Storm's failure. He bought the game he was working on from his former employer, 7th Level, for a price that was much more than Domonion: Storm Over Gift 3 was worth. He was also the company's "biz guy", but his business decisions ended up putting Ion Storm under debt, which then resulted in Eidos buying Ion Storm. He was also the reason Daikatana's original development team quit on a massive walkout. He was fired from the company, not too long after that incident.
