I really enjoyed RS:V2. How has RS:V1 aged in the past 2 years? Is it still worth picking up? I have to imagine that there's zero multiplayer going on, so this would be solely about the single-player experience.

(Keep in mind that I am a total graphics whore.)

I just bought RS:V1 and there are actually a lot of people still playing online. You will have no trouble finding a game. I have no idea what V2 is like but the gameplay I found in RS:V1 seemed to be solid and looked very much the same as V2. Here's also a followup. It was nominated for least improved game of 2008 from gamespot.

I dunno, for a graphic whore....  I made the mistake of picking it up right after finishing COD4 and i played it for about 4 minutes before i had to turn it off.  Im sure its a good game, i think i will just have to give myself some time.  :D

    Hell no

    clunky gameplay

    and shitty graphics...

It was all good a couple of years ago, but now?

no.... this isnt a nostalgic kind of game.

its not like going back and playing the first MGS or Fable

R6V2 is an upgraded version of the first, thats all.

Why would u downgrade yourself just for the hell of it?

Thats like trading in your Lambo to test drive a pinto for a bit.....

The story's better in the first game but there's not much closure to the ending.

Graphics don`t meen shit, why do so many people stress over this, the game doesn`t look "Amazing" but it sure as hell isn`t ugly, it`s a great game and in my opinion tons better then Call of duty 4.

Its the whole experience that counts.  Graphics and animations, action in general add realism to a game that is striving to be realistic.  I havent played through Vegas 1 fully yet, but Im pretty certain I liked COD4 more than I am enjoying Vegas.

And the problem with going from an amazing graphical game to a lower res one does indeed make it look ugly.  When all games reach a standard, i can understand your view but COD4 (or practically any FPS nowadays) makes Vegas 1 look ugly.
Anyway, I'll report back when ive finished it and maybe I will eat those last words...

It's still quite an entertaining game, and I think it still looks good.  Definitely worth it if you can find it for a good price.

For God's sake, if everyone is going to come in on every FPS released in the last ten years and say FUCKING SHIT COMPARED TO COD4 or SHIT GRAPHICS BECAUSE ITS MORE THAN SIX MONTHS OLD then they are nuts.

RSV1 is goddamn awesome game. It's one of the best tactical shooters ever made. If you can find it on the cheap, then you have a great bargain there sir.
