    Splinter Cell: Conviction is the fifth installment in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise. Sam Fisher breaks apart from the Third Echelon in order to find the people responsible for the death of his daughter, only to find that not everything is what it seems.

    Is anybody else's splinter cell conviction freezing up?

    i just got mine today and in the second mission right after the first weapons crate it freezes.  There was an update as soon as I put in the disc so I just want to know if its all of them or just mine before I return it to amazon.

    It seems like it's all of them in that same exact spot.  There was a thread saying this before.

    @RobotHamster:  No need to apologize.  I'm not one of those people that jumps into a person's esophagus if they didn't search the forums and I didn't mean for it to come off as that if it did.  Just trying to let you know about the freezing and how I found put about it, as I don't have the game yet.

    It's apparently an issue caused by the day one title update.  It has corrupted the game's campaign story mode, and will freeze unless you play offline.

    Yep. Very first weapon upgrade locker. Upgraded a weapon. Left the screen. Walked about two steps down the corridor. Froze.

    I guess Ubisoft fixed the bug now cause im on the 3rd mission now and there are weapons caches around and the game does not freeze up. I accepted the game update when i singed on to Live and everything works now. Thanks Ubisoft for listening to us.

    Yeah, its good that they got it fixed on day one, but it's lame that I had to reformat my hard drive so it wouldn't freeze up while signing into Xbox Live.

    that problem got resolved, and it is not the title update that fixed it...
