I've played all the previous splinter cell titles. Even when double agent came out, i played both the original xbox version and the PC/360. I appreciated more the original xbox version as it felt closer to Chaos Theory which was then and now is still my favorite splinter cell game. This one plays much more like a shooter. Deniable Ops: Insurgency just expands the coop game play with four more maps. If you liked the coop that came with the game you will probably like this. The achievements sort of act like the in game challenges making you get specific kinds of kills in specific locations. Conviction is a hard game to enjoy mostly for it's lack of anything that made the first three games interesting. It feels like a game lacking identity which is upsetting as it delivers an interesting story albeit through the guise of a twitchy cover-based shooter.If there is one thing the games industry lacks is contemporary stealth games that don't feel too far from home. Sam Fisher is back and better than EVER! Execution shots and weapon upgrades really make this game worth buying. The story is awesome and there are more ways to sneak around from place to place. The "last known position" feature in this game is very cool and your enemies continue to shoot where you were even though you may have moved. Splinter Cell established itself as a realistic stealth game in the previous generation of consoles. The series prior to Conviction was strictly a stealth game, based on mostly "trial and error". Missions were somewhat linear and they all have their limitations. The story itself is nothing too glamorous and hardly fascinating at all, filling with a bunch of what the writers consider "plot twists" when most of us saw the events coming. It was about the time that I felt the pistol at the back of my head, a classic FN Five-seveN judging by the the barrel. How was I able to discover the gun just by feeling the barrel at the back of my head? Look, there are only about three different pistols in this game that have silencers, two are useful later in the game, and one of them was made for the Russian army. The best sleeper of the year and possibly game of the year for me. Many games I find myself bored before I even finish them and I feel like I need to force myself to complete them. Splinter Cell: Conviction was far from a forced finish. I thoroughly enjoyed playing every mission in this game. It seemed to have a beautiful balance of stealth and action while leaning towards more action, which I prefer. The variety of the levels kept everything fresh and the fantastic graphics made it even better....
