It seems (if this rumor is right) that it's the right direction for the Tomb Raider series. The previous game, while being good were not a bit dry.
Open-World Tomb Raider Reboot Details Leaked
Sounds awesome. Could just be the game that gets me back into Tomb Raider. I havn't played a Tomb Raider game since the one that involved you running around the mansion while being stalked by the pedophile looking butler chasing you around the house with wine, grunting and shit. He was one creepy ass bastard D:
" Lara Prime actually sounds like a really good idea. Also the 2nd image looks a lot like Kate Austen from Lost. "" And we're not talking strictly food and drink survival here. According to the sheet, this island happens to be home to "mysterious enemies" that will hunt Lara as she apparently attempts..."
Hmm... Lost you say?
The only Tomb Raider game I've ever played was Tomb Raider: Legend, and I didn't feel compelled to finish it. It felt more James Bond, than an actual spelunking game, even though you did get to explore some Tombs in it.
This actually sounds very intriguing, though.
"What is this, the fourth reboot? I loved the first Tomb Raider, but all the rest went down hill from there. This game could be cool. Adding "open world" to anything makes me interested. "
Second. The only reboot they've done this far is when Crystal Dynamics took over. Unless you count the recent downloadable game as a reboot, but it was pretty similar to the Legend series in a lot of ways and was more of a stand alone/spin off affair.
Like someone else pointed out though, none of this information is new, it was all leaked last year. Sounds pretty interesting though, while I liked the Legend series of games.. they suffered a lot from being in Uncharted's shadow. Moving away from it more is definitely a good idea.
