Necessary to sustain life in organic creatures, the crimson fluid known as blood tends to make appearances when the body's structure is compromised in some way, a very, very common occurrence in videogames. |

Celebrity Tie-in
Often used to to make an otherwise mediocre game look appealing. The celebrity tie-in is similar to the Movie tie-in or product tie-in. Unlike the other two, however, celebrity tie-in games usually have an original story, and is not based off of a movie said celebrity has appeared in. |

Cell Phone Interface
Games that use a cell phone as the menu/interface/pause screen. All show a battery indicator, which usually never drains, and sometimes a signal strength indicator, which may flicker or change as an aesthetic touch, but usually has no impact on gameplay. |

Character Creation
Character Creation refers to characters created by players themselves, rather than developers. |

Climbing
Climbing is a common tradition in games, particularly platformers. There is often a particular type of surface that can be climbed, and it has a recognizably different look than other surfaces in the game. Climbing ladders or stairs doesn't count. |

Combo
Typically found in fighting games, combos are a series of strung-together moves. |

Corpse Spasms
When a character is killed, the fallen body's ragdoll will fail and the corpse will start to freak out and flip about spastically. Mostly occurs in open world/sand-box games with a fair deal of Open World Jank. |

The ability for an athlete or character, especially in extreme sports or platforming games, to rotate their bodies in a frontal or backward motion, creating inertia that propels them into a flipping motion. |

Franchise Reboot
The idea of taking an existing franchise and starting over from scratch, overhauling the gameplay and sometimes going so far as to remove it from any connection to previous games in a series. Such is sometimes done when attempting to revitalize a franchise that is showing its age and has fallen into disfavor. |

Depending on your perspective it can be art or vandalism. It is the practice of painting, etching, stickering, pasting, or in any way marking public or private property with lettering or images for a variety of different ends. |

Grind
Grinding is the ability to slide along the edge of an object with the trucks of a skateboard, the sole of a rollerblade, or the pegs of a BMX bike. |

Havok Physics (Havok) is a physics API developed by Irish company Havok and released in 2000. It is used in video games as a physics engine, allowing for realistic interactions between in-game entities. |

Sending or receiving fake email inside a game. |

It's arguably the one move that symbolizes the medium to those outside it. The ability to jump, be it onto building, onto platforms, or onto skulls, is one of the all time most important abilities ever put in a video game. |

These games are based off of an established license, such as a movie or comic. Examples are the James Bond and Spider-Man franchises. |
