Overview
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (THPS3) is the third installment of this popular action sports franchise. It was created by Activision in the year 2001. The game features most of the popular skaters at the time, like Tony Hawk, Bam Magera, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell, Rune Glifberg, Eric Koston, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen and other popular skaters, as well as a few secret characters.The game features 9 levels and 4 secret levels. You unlock the secrets by repeating the career mode numerous times.
First level in the game. Features two areas: the main hall and the reactor. The main area consists of 3 levels divided by height. The lowest one features a catwalk with two handrails, and a control center , which is also grindable. There is a open bowl with two metal ramps, three brown storage silos, and a rail going around the back end of the level,
which helps a lot for making massive combos. The second level is the one with a pool full of water, a massive catwalk, which can be reached via two ramps from the starting area, and a kettle for the iron. The third area is just under the roof. It consist out of a oval ramp, two platforms ,and a air vent that is grindable. The reactor is reachable when you do the "Un-jam 5 valves" objective.
There are 10 objectives you can complete :
The second level in the game. It consists of 3 areas: The parking place, the skate park and the big tree. The starting area is the parking lot. It consist of a ramp-to-ramp gap over some cars, three halfpipes connected by a electrical wire and a slope with 4 handrails.
The second area is the skate park, it is on the right side of the parking lot. It has 2 bowls, a bunch of handrails and a fence, as well as some halfpipes. The third area is "the big tree". The area got this name from the huge three standing in the middle of the area. It has a big halfpipe, a broken mine rail, a movable ramp and a few wooded paths.
This level has 10 objectives :
The first competition level of the game.
Score as much points as you can get in the given time. The whole level is one big skate park surrounded by a street and electrical cables.
Notes of interest are the ramps on sides,and the big bowl in the middle. You will need to get at least a bronze to proceed.
A big level with 4 areas: the spooky house,the construction site, the two houses and the trailer park. To open the spooky house, you need to finish the "Help the thin man" objective. It has a concrete halfpipe,a hallway, and a very spooky door. The trailer park has, you guessed it, trailers. Also, it has 4 halfipipes, and a electrical wire. The construction site has a lot rails to grind, and a pool. The who houses consist out of lot of ramps, and a brick wall, which is also grindable.
The 9 objectives for this level are:
This level consist out of 2 areas: the hallway and the docking station. The hallway has 4 bathroom, 4 stairs and two inspection points. The docking station has two levels. The underground area has 2 staircases, and two storage boxes. The upper level has three rails, two ramps and a big halfpipe.
The objectives are:
This level consists out of 2 areas: The skater hall and the pirate ship. To open the ship, you need to grind a pirate flag in the level, to the wall right of your starting place. The skater hall has 2 bowls, and a halfpipe. The ship has some ramps, and there are a few palm trees that are grindable.This is the second competition level. As well as in Rio, you will have to earn at least a bronze.
The largest level in the whole game. Has a park of modern art, a big fountain, a bunch of skyscrapers, a car wash, and a raised highway. This level has two looks: before and after the earthquake. You can "create" an earthquake by grinding four specific rails in the level in one session.
The level has 9 objectives :
The last level (excluding the bonus levels). The level is much like Rio, only more neon lights, and more high-tech. It has 2 overhead ramps, one hologram ramp, a bunch of ramps, and a big amount of grinding chances. This is a competition level. You need to win one medal to advance.
Oil Rig
In THPS3, reverts are the word of the day, as well as all new tricks and levels that are still some of the best of the series. The third game also features top skaters such as, Bam Margera, Bucky Lasek, Jamie Thomas, and Rune Glifberg.

Skater Island

The Oil Rig appears as an exclusive level to the Xbox version of the game. In would later appear in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland as a subsection of its LA map.
