Now those new songs all seem to be... current artists! Surely, surely there's ben a mistake along the line. Late 2000s indie rock has no place in an early TH game. No place I say.

I know the first 3 of those songs, but none of the rest, and only Superman do I remember from Tony Hawk. I had the N64 version so maybe the soundtrack was different. Also never had 2.

Who the fuck are these new bands?

The lack of Guerrilla Radio disappoints me.

I hate that Millencolin song. I'm actually not going to buy this now because of it's inclusion. It's the only part of THPS2 that isn't amazing

"Superman" is pretty much the only song I need to listen to when playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Powerman 5000 is a welcome re-inclusion, though.

As for the new songs, they really should have just put in Linkin Park, and... more Linkin Park. All Linkin Park. I don't know why, but I think that would have been the most hilariously amazing thing to do.

So here I am, doing everything I can, holding on to what I am, pretending I'm a Superman!

Man, these really are not the choices I would've made. Superman and You are perfect and I like Heavy Medal Winner and Bring the Noise plenty, but no Euro Barge? Police Truck? Guerilla Radio? Cyco Vision? Whatever, this just falls in line with how unmemorable all the Tony Hawk soundtracks became as they went along.

Goldfinger is there. That's all that matters.

While I would have loved to see both THPS1 / THPS2 soundtracks in their entirety, they brought back some solid tracks. And hey some El-P in there too? Nice.

Playing through skate 3 again and the new SSX made me realize something. These types of games really benefit from custom soundtracks. When I play extreme sports games, I can find myself spending hours on one mission in skate trying to nail it perfectly, or on one run in SSX trying to get a satisfactory score. Hearing the same few songs over and over again can really take me out of the zone.

That's why I loved SSX's use of custom soundtracks that were integrated into the game. To be, just changing the rotation of the tracks can make it seem brand new. I'm really hoping for future instalments of games in this genre, they really utilize custom soundtracks.

Really though, the soundtrack is fine. They were never going to get every single song from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1-3, nor could they ever cherry pick certain songs that would make everyone happy.

Heavy Metal Winner is such a fucking awesome song.

I remember hating a lot of the music in the original Tony Hawk games because I thought the music was ass.

No Cyco Vision... bummer, I'd take that over When Worlds Collide.

Even if it's shit Sucidal Tendencies I still attribute me discovering their early work to that song and Tony Hawk.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Primus in the first Tony Hawk game? If so, this is a big step backwards. Though I'm pretty happy to see Anthrax on there.

Anyone that complains about it is completely just in their reasoning, because there's absolutely no way to play a custom soundtrack on a console this generation.

Normally I'd chime in with the fact that custom soundtracks don't start a new song when you start a new level, but apparently this version of THPS doesn't switch songs when you restart anymore.

So yeah, with that now known, it's completely pointless to criticize the soundtrack to this game. Just listen to your own music and enjoy the game.

Everyone should make their own soundtrack anyway. After playing the first Skate game I don't think I could play another skating game without "Express Yourself" by N.W.A.

I've already got the soundtracks for THPS 1, 2, and 3 loaded up and ready to go for release date. Here's hoping for custom soundtracks.
