I just read a good piece on THPS:HD over at The PA Report. I wondered what you guys thought of this...
Hawk also wanted the game to feature all new songs. That way fans of the game could be introduced to new bands, the same way a generation of gamers were turned on to the punk and ska bands from the first games.
Although I admire Hawk for wanting to be heavily involved in the development of the game, I can't help but think he's missing the point of a remake. Initially, the fears of the old soundtrack being missing were due to Robomodo not being able to secure licenses. Now it seems like it was possible, but Hawk wanted new songs so we're ending up with a 50/50 split. I guess this is better than nothing. I can't wait to see what the soundtrack is as my biggest memory of those games is the music and it will seem strange thrashing around those levels with a different tunes.
Also, this really annoyed me.
The hidden VHS tapes have been converted to DVDs.
Why does that change need to happen? Scared that the kids will not be down with collecting tapes. Completely unnecessary and for me, will undermine the nostalgia. Not that either of these things will stop me playing this.
