    Robomodo just couldn't make it!

When I think about Tony Hawk games all memories are coming back. Almost all my game memories from my childhood have something to do with Tony Hawk games. I've been playing them since Pro Skater 3 came out, and never ever have I got so addicted to a video game. So I bought a skateboard, bought the next on. Tony Hawk games made me love skating and punk music, I've been skating for many years and I listen to a lot of music thanks to THPS.

But after a while neversoft tried to make the games more realistic, and since they've tried to do that the games has just been worse and worse for each year. Espacially when Proving Ground came out which was a horrible ending to the THPS series, I wouldn't say that Ride and Shred are counted since they weren't made by neversoft.

So can you expect how excited I was for this release? Well in fact I thought the day the game was announced was the best day of my life, but no I've had much better days. Since I don't own a xbox I had to wait until August for it to be released. And there it was, I just couldn't wait for it to download, I was so excited. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is a remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2.

The first hour of the game was just awesome. I enjoyed playing the classic levels like School 2 and Hangar so much. The game plays just like THPS1 and THPS2, there's classic mode, same levels (almost) and some skaters from those game. The goals on the levels are almost the same so I could actually remember where the S-K-A-T-E letters were at the first level Warehouse.

If you've played the Tony Hawk games for 11 years then you should get through the mode pretty fast, it took me 2 hours to complete all goals. But then there's also a new mode called projectives which is pretty much the same except that the goals are harder. It looked impossible at first, espacially the Downhill Jam goals, but after a while I completed them as well. Of course, if you've never played a Tony Hawk game before then this is really hard.

When you're done with every goal then just play through the career mode with another character, until you've completed it with every character. After a while you'll get tired of it, it took me over three years to play through all career missions with every character in THPS3, but here I just didn't want to do it. Why? Probably cause I don't get the same old feeling. Neversoft didn't design this game so that's probably the reason.

For the first Robomodo only got half of the original soundtrack in this game, it might sound like much but it's only six songs. Second, you can still manual at the THPS1 levels, which you couldn't do in that game so I don't get it, it's pretty easy to patch it so why don't you do it now? And there's only 7 levels in the game. There's no secret levels that you'll have to complete every goal to get like Roswell, there are just the regular levels.

Also, Robomodo forgot to add the competition levels like Marseille, Chicago and others. That's a fun part of the old games which Robomodo should by far have had in their version, but no they couldn't fix it. So I got very tired of it and stopped playing.

After three months comes the THPS3 DLC out, which I've been waiting for a decade to come out by now. But robomodo failed again. Seriously even though they added the revert which was a nice thing they still failed with some things. Like why doesn't your special meter increase during the combo, why is there still a big drop sign? And the revert doesn't really work well either cause you can do a thousands of them without stopping, it's something Robomodo really should have fixed by now.

I'm sorry that I'm giving so much of bad critic to Robomodo, but seriously they deserve it. THPS HD isn't a bad game at all, but it has some things that really annoys me which they could by far have patched by now. The graphics are pretty old school, but some parts are really strange. There are a lot of glitches on all levels, it's impossible to play a single session without at least finding one glitch.

I used to play THPS games with my friends all day long, but there's no split screen mode at all wait what? Yes that's right, no 2-player mode. That's really dissapointing, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who used to play Tony Hawk games with friends all day long. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is not a bad game as I said, but some parts just really isn't right with it.

As I said, THPS HD isn't a bad game. But for someone like me it was really dissapointing. If you've never played a Tony Hawk game before then seriously don't get this, get the older ones on PS2. I'm pretty sure that you can find them for very cheap right now. The Tony Hawk games might get a better comeback soon, but one thing is sure. And that is that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will not be that game. I still have all the old Tony Hawk games and I prefer playing them, so those and Fifa are the only games I play.

Nice try Robomodo, better luck next time.

A new release in the Tony Hawk series is here, it's not a HD remake neither is it a new game, but it's a compilation of content from 1st two games from the PLAYSTATION 1. The remake first came out on the Xbox Live Arcade and it had it's share of technical issues, lots of clipping and challenges didn't register your moves that were required (School level Rails most notable) but you could get pass that. In the interviews ROBOMODO said that they delayed the PSN release because it's the most importa...
