So Jeff put my track on the server and it would just get skipped, and I'm still not sure why, but I tried renaming it and moving the location of all its custom images.

It's apparently a known issue, Lokno.

TroZ sent me that link after doing some hunting when one of his tracks and mine were getting skipped for unknown reasons on his Shackmania server. He also wrote (which I think is mentioned later in that thread) that the Nadeo guy who looks at this kind of stuff won't be available until October. None of this server business makes sense to me, I just know is that it's a bummer some maps won't load online. All I really want to see when creating a track is other people race them and put up crazy good lap times.

Thanks so much for posting this info! I'm new to the trackmania scene so I wouldn't have known any of the unsolved issues from the beta. Is there any leads on what specifically causes a level to fail? I had a previous version on the server that did work, but I made a lot of changes, including:

• Changed the mood to night
• Added ceiling light blocks
• Removed all tunnels and a lot of track towards the end
• Added custom textures and car skins using the url option
• Added GPS and start block text about it
• Attempted to add custom music, got fed up with .loc files and switched back to default

I notice one of the entries in the thread you linked posted a command terminal which shows a server dying while trying to load a map with a block named ArenaFloodLightBaseCeilingA

If it was easy as removing my ceiling lights I would do so!

I'll be out of town for a few days this week. I can look in remotely from the admin panel and restart the server if it crashes or something like that, but won't be in-game at all until at least Wednesday (unless I pop back in tonight after packing). Don't break nothing!

Hopefully Karsh will get back at some point, he also has admin access and can add maps and stuff.

I do have some ceiling lights on my map, can't really be bothered to troubleshoot every little thing as I don't have a server of my own and can't easily test each change like that and see what will make it work online in the current dedicated server versions. I'm unfamiliar with this stuff too, all I can uselessly add is that these tracks seem to work just fine when I play them on a local server via the game menus.

The problem with the ceiling flood light block theory is that I'm pretty sure I saw one a level with ceiling lights on the server. All three maps have those ceiling tiles, have a night mood, and use trails. Tell me, did you change the light color on your ceiling tiles from default? Both Troz and I did in our levels. It may be a problem with selecting the color of ceiling lights. Even if you selected "yellow" instead of default, that may still be enough to glitch it. Just a guess based on what I've seen.

I'm in the same sort of situation. I check the server most evenings/nights to make sure things are going okay, but I'm not at my desktop on most days. I'll try to be on as often as I can.

Anything all the skipped tracks share in common is suspect. I have a lot of white V light blocks, which I may have to delete and replace with billboards. At the moment I've just removed ceiling lights.

Guy named Maximus was causing some serious trouble on the server today. People kept on trying to ban him, but he managed to avoid the bans by leaving before the timer expired. I think an IP ban is in order.

All I did was remove my ceiling tiles, and now it works perfectly. Just played it on the server. This fixed it for a dude on the mania-exchange too. You probably could keep your colored V-blocks, I would just make sure to get rid of any of the ceiling lights.

Ceiling lights were the first to go, the V-blocks were fluff that couldn't be seen anyway, took them out just to be safe so I'm not going to bother re-doing the shadows just to add those back. Good to know the ceiling light piece was the likely culprit, going to avoid it when creating future tracks until I know it's been fixed!

@SharkMan: He was being flagrantly immature, just flaming everyone and generally being a dick. It was bad enough that the server sort of teamed up in an effort to get him banned.

how many tracks are there on the server? it says 107 or something in the UI but it seems like I'm often racing the same tracks.

Not sure about the US, but just take a peek at the German servers and see how many more of them are playing compared to Americans in general. Trackmania is pretty big over in Europe last I checked. It will be interesting to see if they take up Shootmania and/or Questmania just as much as they do with Trackmania

Servers borked. There are only 3 tracks and the time is set at 4 minutes. Something real bad happened.

Edit: I retract my previous statement. It appears to be fixed now. But it was like that earlier.

The server has a lot of maps back, but it doesn't have some of the more recent adds and its kicking everyone at random.

Finally made a track I'm relatively confident in. Pretty fast, clocking in around 1 minute if done right. Plenty of boosts with lots of drifts and tricky maneuvers. The route is well marked and visible, but requires skill to complete.

Haha, a little creepy but fun track. So much serious Dave! That first right turn under the overpass is pretty dark. Maybe a billboard on the inside of that turn would help brighten it up. Don't use ceiling tile flood lights though (3-7-2), those aren't fully supported by the dedicated server.

Man, there are some serious trackmania players on this server - I presume they're there just because it's a popular server? Or does GB have an incredibly talented trackmania demographic?

Sort of on that note - does anyone know if the server is going to be password protected on tommorrows TNT? Personally I think that'd be for the best just for the 2 or 3 hours that it's live if only members could play on it.

It's not a terrible idea. I just hope its up for TNT! It reset yesterday and since then (unless it resolved itself) its been kicking people like crazy. Hopefully Jeff takes a look at it tonight! And adds my track! Please add my track... T.T

Maximus is STILL on the server, causing trouble, dodging bans. The server is such an ugly place when he's online. Someone really needs to do something about him.

yeah i was wondering about that, it seemed like there were GB people online at the weekend but when I've been on during the week I'm not so sure.
