All $1208 dollars of it. I knew the last one had a bunch, but I figured it was gained over time.

How do these people stay in business, and who the hell is buying train simulator 2013 and accompanying DLC???

That is kind of madness, I assumed it was all carried over stuff from 2012 and if you hadn't got it you could buy it and it would just add on, but looking at the individual pages on some of those I can't see the 2012 branding anywhere. In my mind they are just upgrading all 2012 players to 2013 players and if you have the DLC it carries over, but maybe hardcore train simulation players are just as fucking insane as you'd expect.

All the 2012 stuff carries over to 2013. If you own Train Simulator 2012, you even get a free upgrade to Train Simulator 2013. No need to even buy the game if you bought the previous game, never-mind any DLC. So that means I now own Train Simulator 2013. Maybe I'll get some of that $1200 DLC for it. Because TRAINS!!!!

I've actually driven real trains, several kinds. You'd be surprised at how often there's a nut next to the tracks taking photos of the train passing.

I bet they buy these games and all of the damn DLC.

The game isn't really aimed at your typical gamer. It's aimed at the collector and is trying to take the place of collecting actual model trains. There is a market for super realistic representations of actual trains but it's a small market. For the amount of work they have to do and the small amount of people that actually care they have to charge ~$20 an engine to make any kind of profit and keep the game going.
