Trauma Team

Trauma Team comes to the Wii courtesy of Atlus, and has you stepping into the roles of several different doctors. You'll be performing surgeries, trying to help out  at the scene of an accident, and even playing the part of a forensics expert. You'll be impressed with how every single character has a different style of play and will keep you going for quite a while.

Graphically this screams the style that you're used to from Atlus, an almost Persona art style. They will do cut scenes in comic book style boxes, and will give you almost  human looking bodies to work on when trying to save a life. Each character definitely has a distinct look to them, but you're not going to see much of them unless you're watching the cut scenes.

Music wish there's definitely that hospital TV show theme music going on, but sadly after a while you kind of want to skip over it to just get to the meat of the game. The one piece of the game that will grate on your nerves, but at the same is a must to hear, is the heart beat of the patient. The constant  monitoring noise might drive you nuts, but if you're looking to score high marks in each level you're going to need the volume on for this game.

The controls you'll have to get used to for each different doctor as they will have a different assortment of items that they will be able to use in their section of the game. Most of the controls (Wii Mote + Nunchuck) are pretty easy to pick up but its guiding the endoscope and having to do certain precision things where the Wii-mote still isn't completely precise that will hurt your overall game experience.

This game was something that I didn't know what I was getting into when I first picked it up. You really get to live through these doctors, and perform surgeries, sometimes under the clock that are intense and exhausting. I have to say that there is a lot of work to each level. My issue with the game though is that you can play one character's "campaign" up to a certain part and then you hit the locked levels. the problem is that if you then go on to play other characters the story is all out of sync, also there were certain modes that I really didn't really want to go through after a while, my top choice to skip has to be the forensic doctor where half the level, I felt, was complete guesses, and the only way to beat the level in anywhere close to the timeframe of the other types was to use a walk through.

Overall this is a solid game with just that one little story blemish. If you're interested in a game in which you get hands on with saving people's lives, and getting to know a bit about the doctors, this is the game for you. This is definitely not for people looking for instant gratification, but for those who have the patience this can be an eye opening experience. This game gets an 8.0 out of 10.
