Since then he has appeared in many episodes, mostly in low quality movies or educational films. Troy makes his most central appearance in the episode "A Fish Called Selma", in which he marries Marge's sister in order to restore his reputation and revive his career. Troy McClure was retired from the show in 1998 due to the death of Phil Hartman, who voiced the character.
