Trunks

Trunks first appears in the Buu saga as a child. He, along with his best friend Goten (the second son of Goku and Chi-chi), enter the World Martial Arts Tournament alongside their fathers, Vegeta and Goku. After the tournament's interruption and Buu's release, Trunks witnesses his father's sacrifice to destroy Majin Buu in vain. After this, Goku teaches Goten and Trunks the 'fusion dance', which allows two warriors to fuse bodies and power for a limited time. They use this against the now Super Buu, but while they fake losing to create drama for the fight, Piccolo destroys the door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber (which they were fighting inside), sealing them inside for seemingly forever. After Super Buu creates a rift to the outside world, they fight again, only for Buu to absorb them. They are later freed by Vegito, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta using the Potara earrings (which were supposed to fuse two individuals forever).
