It would have sold like shit if it actually came out in October. At least it has more of a chance in early 2012.
Twisted Metal
Game » consists of 3 releases. Released Feb 14, 2012
The long-running tournament-based vehicular manslaughter simulator returns with this new entry, exclusive to the Playstation 3.
You Won't Be Buying Twisted Metal This Year
Great news, was worried it would get overlooked due to its launch date, even though I'm really looking forward to it I can't say I would of been playing it over Dark Souls on release day. Releasing it early 2012 will mean getting all of my attention.
Not to mention now they have more time to put that M rating to work.
This game was gonna go mostly unnoticed in the holiday rush anyway, so I take that as a positive (although I'm not that interested in it)
They should at least get a beta out during the holidays, no? I mean, this will need a beta anyway; I imagine the online is a huge attraction to this game. It would be a neat Christmas present from Sony, that's for sure:)
Whatever, I'm not even that hyped for it. I need to see it more. I feel like they've barely showed it. I've seen a few bad trailers and one demo on IGN during e3 that was pretty cool (Sweet Tooth's van turns into a robot!). But we gotta see more. I'm surprised Sony's not hyping it more yet.

They probably have a better chance of standing out sometime next year as opposed to the holiday season anyways. I see this as a positive all around.
NOOOOO I wanted this game more than anything else this year... but on the bright side I won't have to play like 3 games on the same day anymore. :I
I wonder how the Jeff feels about Rage's multiplayer being Car Combat? You think this could help in the long run since people playing Rage's multiplayer will be like oh this is fun, twisted metal is like this right?
When you read what Jaffe has to say about the delay, you will understand that it's for the best. I think this is the first time I have been excited about a game being delayed. I can't wait to see how much better it gets within those few extra months, as I already think this is going to be the best Twisted Metal yet.Yeah. Probably mainly has to do with the recent Mature rating, and associated adjustments to the game's tone. As a huge fan of the franchise, this delay is awesome news.

The fewer games I have to buy this fall/winter the better. My wallet is going to be sad enough as it is.
exactly
this is good, i wouldnt have been able to buy it anyways, what with skyrim, bf3, uncharted, gears 3, batman etc etc...
Probably for the best, the next few months are stacked with blockbuster releases and Twisted Metal would have long been forgotten within a week.I agree. Moving this game out of the already stacked last quarter of 2011 has increased the chance of me getting by a fair bit.
