I grew up on Roller Coaster Tycoon as a child. I played most of the tycoon games that spun off from their success and I really used to love that genre. It seems like all that stuff is mostly dead now. Can you think of any good ones from semi-recently?
It's not exactly Roller Coaster Tycoon, but Kairosoft has been regularly putting out some really solid games in the same vein on Android, Game Dev Story probably being the best known of them.
I've heard relatively good things about Cities in Motion. I've heard less good things about Cities XL. Aside from those two, I can't really think of any recent tycoon-style games. Maybe just waiting for the new SimCity would be the best option.
Also, if you never played Transport Tycoon Deluxe, do it now. It precedes Roller Coaster Tycoon and is awesome. It's one of my favourite games of all time. You can get the free open source port here, which stays true to the original.
