One of the Best
Uncharted 2 is a really thrilling adventure. Following Giant Bomb's game of the year podcast i picked up a Playstation 3 to try it out and it really is something special. It's one of the best games ever made.
The gameplay is a combination of Gears of War and platforming puzzles. But that sells it short. In so many cases it introduces something completely different to keep things fresh, A level a top a train, a stealth level, an escape, a snowstorm, and so on and so forth throughout the whole game.
The story is about treasure hunter Nathan Drake off to find Shambala/Shangri-La it uses the terms kind of interchangably...you're in a race with a Sebian warcriminal and they'll find something very important there. That's simple enough but it's filled with just enough intrigue and double crosses so that you never quite know what's coming. In addition there's some of the best banter I've ever seen in game when you're with your companions throughout the game.
The characters are really one of the selling points of this game. Drake is the roguelike treasure seeker who has the same appeal as an Indiana Jones or John McClane. Then there are the girls, the sultry Chloe and the pretty but nice and smart Elena which works in the traditional Bond fashion of good girl-bad girl.
The graphics really add to the gameplay here as they produce some of the best animated, most believable game characters. Not only is this game fun to play but it evokes everything I want from a good action movie at the same time. It also has multiplayer but I personally don't care about multiplayer.
