There is an Uncharted page. Please post specific game related threads on their page. :)
I own it and enjoyed it, but my big issue with the game was there were too many pirate waves resulting in fights dragging on. I did not find the cover system as enjoyable as Gears of War either. Overall I wish there was a bit more platforming, even though the first hour of the game is all platforming.
Katatonic said:If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, I didn't like the surprise."I played a demo and thought it was beautiful, but not sure I would play through the whole thing. Definitely fun though.""Trust me man, when you buy the full game you'll get a suprise that you'll never even seen coming just by playing the demo"
I was gonna get it at release, but I decided to blow my money on assassins creed instead. I honestly forgot about this game until they announced it on the greatest hits collection. I'll pick it up then.
Oh yeah. If you don't have it, you really owe it to yourself to buy the game and play the damn thing. Most underrated game of 2007. It's ReTarDedFisHy's game of 2007. The FisHy immediatedly fell in love with Drake and Sully. Didn't really dig the chick though. Really love the musical score. Very simple gameplay mechanic, easy to get into.
It's the next game on my list. I want to finish Metal Gear Solid 4 and Heavenly Sword first, though.
From what I can tell, it definitely lives up to the praise people give it. I can't wait to play.
I liked the demo, but it seemed to suffer from "endless guys appearing" syndrome.
Is the whole game like the demo?
I own it and I've finished it.
It's a great game by all accounts. It's Tomb Raider, but unlike that series which is stuck in the past, this one is really "next-gen". And by "next-gen" I don't just mean graphics, but everything from presentation to story, to production values. The game has a fantastic feel and atmosphere to it and the animation is superb (of any game I have seen on any platform, only MGS4's animation trumps it). Really, it has that adventure movie feel to it, like a good Indy movie or something. Something I haven't experienced in any other game. Uncharted put the Tomb Raider series to shame and, looking at the new Tomb Raider game, they haven't learned anything from Uncharted.
That said, the game is a bit heavy on shooting and light on acrobatics, something a lot of people won't expect going into it. Also, as good as the game is nearly all the way through, it completely broke down for me at the final moment, where you have to kill "the boss". Whereas during the entire game you could pretty much go where you wanted and do as you pleased during firefights, the final fight has you jumping through hoops like you were playing a game from ten years past. A damn shame really.
I'm pumped for Uncharted 2, bring it on!
EDIT: And let me add that it was totally underrated when it came out, something I don't understand. Seriously, if you haven't played this game and you are remotely interested in this sort of game, drop what you are doing and go get it, it's that good.
I thought the game was fantastic. Really enjoyed it alltogether.
Hopefully and Uncharted 2 gets announced.
I owned it before, and loved it. I'm getting it again when it has trophies. It has a compelling cast of characters you can actually care about, solid gameplay, and is the best showcase of the power of the PS3. Needs a sequel, badly. Nathan Drake is the most likeable new character introduced in this entire generation of gaming so far.
I got Uncharted along with my PS3, and I do love it. After playing the game, I'm surprised it didn't get better scores then it did. The game has a variety of fun objectives, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous, game mechanics are tight, and there is plenty of replay value. Uncharted is one of PS3's top games, and perhaps among the top titles of this generation. i recommend it to anyone in need of a PS3 game.
