Drake's Fortune is one of the best games on the PS3 to date. 0

In Uncharted: Drake's Fortune you play as young treasure hunter, Nathan Drake. You'll find yourself running through the amazon searching after "El Derado" which turns out to be a statue of gold. Your ancestor "Francis Drake" apparently had no sons but you are convinced you are his heir. When I popped in Uncharted I was fully expecting a good game, due to the amount of talk about it, but when the game is this good it's clear that it is not talked about enough. The visuals in Uncharted are amazing...

    Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Review 0

Every video game generation has at least a few titles that push the graphics envelope – the kind of visual experience that makes non-gamers stand up and take notice. Games like Shenmue on the Dreamcast, or the Gran Turismo series, for instance. The problem is this: developers can sometimes focus so much on the look of the game that the other elements fall flat. What good is a beautifully realized world if the controls suck, or if it has terrible voice acting? There can be no doubt that Uncharted...

    A great, but flawed PS3 game. 0

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a game released by Naughty Dog that has elements from games like Tomb Raider and Gears of War, and uses those elements together in an action adventure game that takes the player on a treasure hunting adventure. Uncharted is a great game, but it isn't perfect. It has flaws which dampens the experience.Let's start with the pros. Uncharted was one of the best looking games of its time (before being squashed horribly by its successor two years later), and is still one ...

Tomb Raider + Gears of War + Far Cry = Uncharted 1

Some people would say this game is very uninspired. I wouldn't argue with you if you told me that. It's pretty obvious the gameplay in this game looks straight out of Gears of War (or kill.switch). But you know what? Who cares, this game rocks! You play as Nathan Drake, an experienced treasure hunter and deep sea salvage expert who is looking for clues that Sir Francis Drake (a past family member) left behind about El Dorado. Tagging along with Nathan is Elena fisher who is filming a documentar...

    Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 0

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a new game from Naughty Dog, the same studio who developed the Crash Bandicoot series on the original Playstation. A great thing about Uncharted if you're a Crash fan is that you'll notice some mechanics that they implemented in the old games and carried it over to Uncharted. Needlessly to say, Naughty Dog have taken a mature approach to the next generation, and they have done so rather well. In Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, you follow the story of Nathan Drake, anc...

Notice how Nathan's shirt stays half-tucked all time? Weird. 0

Directions for making a hit action-adventure game: take one lovable rogue as the main character, a shady, cigar-chomping second-in-command, and an increasingly useful (and attractive) female lead. Mix in some good AI for your NPC friends, a range of weapons, enemies, a third-act twist to rival any game you’ve ever played, and drop in a legendary golden treasure at the last moment. Remember to preheat the whole lot with platform exclusivity, and you’re golden, so to speak. Not that Uncharted is f...

    A game that defines next-gen gaming. 0

Great game that goes far beyond my expectation of naughty dog graphics. It revolutionizes what the ps3 is capable of doing. Uncharted has that feel of tomb raider but better. Having a variety of weapons and impressing combos that makes you want to play the game again once your done. The gameplay can be a little hard since shooting them in the body more than ten times with a pistol doesn't necessarily kill them . What's great about the game is the graphics and storyline. It's about finding Drake...

    Goodbye Lara 0

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the most fun singleplayer experiences I've had in many many years, and Naughty Dog has just polished the heck out of the game in just about every aspect, it looks gorgeous, it plays like a dream. The story is not the most original, but the way its told makes if far more effective than anything this genre in games has ever seen before, it blows Tomb Raider clear out of the water, and a big part of that is because they have managed to create some characters her...

    Uncharted: Drake's Awesome. 0

Well I don't really know how to structure this review and can't be bothered attempting any act of literary genius so I'll structure it into sections. Fun and original.GRAPHICSWe all know the visual presentation Naughty Dog granted us with Uncharted is impressive. The graphics and overall presentation in this game seriously kicks arse Famous among PS3 owners for finally giving them their own game to brag about and inFamous (oooh, see what I did there?) among X360 owners for giving the PS3 a game ...

    Uncharted Is Amazing! 0

Uncharted: Drakes fortune by Naughty Dog From the first opening movie uncharted has you strapped in your seat, if you like action adventure games and lost treasure type storyline, the masters from Naughty Dog have a gem for you. And what a beauty it is, from the Graphics to Sound, from Storyline to gameplay, this game is absolutely brilliant. Lets start of with drake, a not so fortunate 21st century treasure hunter. He fits in this game like destruction at a Germany-Holland soccer match. (im ...

An Action Movie in a Game 0

I really enjoyed this game.  It's not that often that I come across a game where I actually look forward to seeing what happens next in the story.  That was the case with this game. The protagonist of this game is Drake, a treasure hunter in search of a lost treasure from Eldorado.  The gameplay takes place in gorgeous jungles and Aztec temples.  Visually the game was absolutely wonderful.    The combat was a stop and pop action where you utilize cover to take out enemies, and this worked well.  ...

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune MIni Review 3

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a 3rd person shooter for the PS3. The shooting element in Uncharted is similar to the one found in Gears of War. Basically you have to find cover or else the bad guys will kill you really quickly. Once you find cover you shoot at them using a wide variety of modern weaponry such as mini-uzis, pistols, AK-47s, and SPAS Shotguns. I found myself running out of ammo a lot, so I would waste an AK clip on a few mercenaries then have to switch to the pistol and get some he...

A quality cinematic action game 0

Uncharted is an action/adventure game similar to the Tomb Raider series in some regard. It tantalizes your senses with lush colorful environments with a magnificent musical score. Throw in gunplay and narrow escapes straight from the movies and you get a solid experience. Graphics: Definitely next-gen visuals mixed with great artistic representation. It doesn't set the bar higher per say but isn't lacking in anyway either. The jungles are lush with plants swaying in the wind and spots on ligh...

Uncharted will blow you away... 0

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a PS3-exclusive title from Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog are formally of Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter fame, which are both kid-friendly platformers with mass appeal, and so the really big debate here is if Naughty Dog have what it takes to create a third person shooter with a more mature storyline and set of characters than they have shown in the past. The truth of the matter is that Naughty Dog don't just have what it takes, they have really shown what that studio...

    Duck and Cover 0

In my opinion Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was the Sony triple A title of 2007, which is slightly odd given the relative lack of hype around it from Sony upon its release. The structure of the game is pretty simple, effectively a blend of exploring ruins, a la Tomb Raider, and ducking behind cover and taking out waves of enemies, eg Gears of War. However, what stops Uncharted being a straightforward clone is the level of depth in the story and presentation. The fact that the development was inspire...

Pure fun -- like seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark all over again. 0

Uncharted is a fantastic adventure game in its own right, blending platforming and action with strong characters and an interesting storyline. But it's also a refreshing change of pace from the dark brooding sci-fi / pseudo-sci-fi first-person shooters that's dominating the console action market the last few years.Environments are a blast to explore -- lush, detailed and filled with realistic lighting and water effects. But levels are far from open-ended. You'll never stray far from where you're...

Uncharted is one of the best looking console games around. Everything reflects in the water as it ripples, the lush, jungle environments are hard to ignore, the explosions light up the screen, the character animations look incredibly organic and real, the vistas are great looking, the buildings and caves are brimming with detail, the lighting effects are more than stellar, and it does it all at a silky smooth frame rate. Uncharted is the kind of game to make your mouth water, and make long run o...

I'm telling you, Sully. This is it - this is finally it." Years ago when Uncharted was unveiled for the first time I had very little interest in it at all. Not once did I think that this would be a very good game. But as time went by I slowly gained more and more interest in this game. Eventually Uncharted went from just another game to me and turned into one of my most anticipated games. I was simply dying to have a chance to play this game. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 0

Uncharted is a great showcase of what the PS3 hardware can do and the beginning of a potentially great franchise. As is common with Naughty Dog's games, the difficulty can be a bit uneven, but it's still a really fun game. There are two main aspects to Uncharted's gameplay, the shooting and the platforming. The shooting plays a lot like Gears of War, with the perspective over the shoulder while aiming and a very similar cover system. You're a little more helpless though, being a basically normal...

Here's to More Uncharted Games 0

Uncharted wears its inspirations on its sleeve at times but it can't really be faulted for it too much because it takes these inspirations and makes something really fun and cool out of them. I won't go on and mention the similarities to Gears, Tomb Raider, God of War, Firefly or whatever. What really struck me the first time playing was how good everything looked and felt. Not just the graphics like water and jungle, but the presentation and feel. It was perfectly tuned for my tastes. The only ...

In late 2007, Sony's PS3 was still lagging way behind Microsoft and Nintendo in terms of both sales and good games. Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune looked to turn that around and deliver PS3 owners with a cinematic yarn that delivered the goods like a big summer blockbuster. Luckily, what they set out to do was successful and their game turned out to be one of the best PS3 games of 2007. The first thing that pops out at you (no pun intended), is the beautiful look of the game. While the...

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is a third person action adventure game created by Naughty Dog. It stars Nathan Drake, a fortune hunter, on a great mission to discover the lost treasure of El Dorado. ProsEngaging story and atmosphere, with plenty of likable characters. A decent balance between gun play, platforming and puzzle solving. ConsIntroducing monsters in these kinds of games annoy me. It's like. To begin with it's about the treasure and beating dudes to finding the treasure and that's cool. But it feels like most every game or movie with this kind of plot throws in a supernatural element and then BAM! There are crawling, monkey monster things that are trying to rend your flesh from ...

I'll get this out of the way right now, Uncharted employs nothing that hasn't been done before. But, that's what makes it great. Uncharted is the closest game on the market that can be seen as 'movie quality'. It's storyline is unique, and is different than a lot of games that are out, you actually start to care about the characters more than in others. You actually get engrossed in this story and the characters and are in the game all till the end. The story itself is nothing original, as ideas...

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for the PS3 might be what some would call "derivative" of other games in the action genre, and in its way it is, but to brush it under the rug as derivative would be short sighted because you would be passing up one of the prettiest, most fun, engrossing, and addictive games ever created. The year is 2007. After probably sick of working with platformers (and one racing game) with an angst-filled elf-like character and his small wise-cracking animal sidekick, developer Naughty Dog decided to take their PlayStation 3 debut in a different way. Instead of making yet another Jak & Daxter title, they went for a more action-movie like game. The result is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
