A former Sega internal studio, United Game Artists were responsible for titles such as Rez and Space Channel 5. UGA was absorbed into Sonic Team in 2003.

Previously known as Sega AM9  R&D, United Game Artists (UGA) were an an internal development studio headed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi.  Over the studio's lifetime, they released a small number of innovative games, including Rez and Space Channel 5
 
After Sega merged with Sammy in 2003, Tetsuya Mizuguchi left to form his own company, Q Entertainment, and the remainder of UGA was integrated into Sonic Team.
